Eagles’ Jimmy Carr dies:
The sports world suffered yet another loss today as news spread of the passing of a former defensive back and assistant coach. Jimmy Carr was 79 years old.
Carr got his start in the ’50s with the Chicago Cardinals before moving on to the Eagles and then the Redskins. He played for Philadelphia when they won the Championship in 1960 and earned many of his career highs there, including 13 out of 15 interceptions. He then moved on to assistant coach for 24 years in the NFL, two of which were with the Eagles. He was inducted into the NAIA Hall Of Fame in 1962.
