In 2011, Time Warner Cable acquired Insight Communications – a telecom that served communities in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. Now the former president and COO of Insight is taking on a bigger role within Time Warner Cable.
Time Warner Cable announced today that Dinni Jain, COO and president of Insight, will join Time Warner Cable as its COO on January 13, 2014. His role within Time Warner Cable won’t be that different from his work at Insight as he will be charged with overseeing the company’s residential services, business services and media sales. He will also be getting some new responsibilities in the form of overseeing Time Warner Cable’s technology and network operations, product development and content acquisition.
“Dinni is a proven leader, with more than 20 years of experience in successfully operating cable systems,” said incoming Time Warner Cable CEO Robert D. Marcus. “He has a great track record and shares my commitment to creating a performance driven, customer-centric culture at Time Warner Cable. Over the past year we have strengthened our executive ranks with the hiring of Artie Minson and Phil Meeks. Dinni is yet another complementary addition to our already world-class management team, and I couldn’t be more delighted to have him at the helm of our operations.”
Time Warner notes that Jain is credited with growing Insight from a small telecom to the ninth largest ISP in the country at the time of its sale in 2011. During that time, Insight’s customer satisfaction scores reportedly grew 50 percent under his leadership. Customer satisfaction is something that Time Warner Cable could definitely use some help as the latest American Consumer Satisfaction Index listed Time Warner Cable as having a score of 63 out of 100.
For his part, Jain says that he’s “honored to be joining a company with a long and proud tradition in this industry” and that he’s “excited to be a part of the dynamic leadership team that [Marcus] is creating.”
Marcus will become CEO and Chairman of Time Warner Cable on January 1 and he’ll be joined by a completely new team that includes Dinni. It will be interesting to see if this new management team will create a better Time Warner Cable that offers customers what they want, like gigabit Internet, or if they will continue to claim that its subscribers don’t want faster speeds while increasing subscription prices.
