At Sunday night’s Golden Globes, Denzel Washington received the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is presented for lifetime achievement.

The deserving recipient gave a rather charming acceptance speech, once again proving just how lovable he is.

At times struggling to read his own prepared remarks due to not having his glasses, Washington thanked his former agents, his family, and those that gave him a chance early on in his career.

At one point, his wife stepped in as he was fighting back tears.
