David Hasselhoff keeps popping up in the years since “Baywatch” went off the air, most recently in the horror/comedy “Piranha 3D” as himself. In fact, he’s made several cameos over the years, content to just be the Hoff rather than a character. And it looks like that’s what he’ll be going for in the “Baywatch” film, as well.
“I’ve just met the guy writing the film. I’m going to play myself,” Hasselhoff said. “We’re trying to make it a very cool updated version.”
The show that catapulted several people into superstardom–including Pamela Anderson–went on for eleven seasons, and had a huge fanbase that are eager to see their favorite characters on the big screen. But even though Hasselhoff won’t be reprising his role as Mitch Buchannon, rumors are flying that new stars will be filling the shoes of some of the characters. Namely, Justin Bieber as Hobie, Mitch’s son.
The film is slated for a 2013 release and details are sketchy, to say the least; however, big names keep being dropped in association with the movie. One of the latest is Justin Timberlake, although nothing has been confirmed.
