Good morning,
I’m reaching out on behalf of Aura. I wanted to make you aware of our latest update on our investigation into this incident:
https://www.aura.com/press/release/statement-on-exposure-of-customer-information
Additionally, I was hoping to request corrections to your piece. You state “A company that sells identity theft protection just had nearly a million customer records stolen” as well as “On June 10, 2025, Aura confirmed that a phishing attack targeting one of its customer support vendors led to unauthorized access of over 900,000 customer records” and other incorrect statements throughout the piece, including the supply chain attack.
Would you mind updating to clarify that the 900k records were not Aura company users and other inaccuracies? This information came from a marketing list. Included in that marketing list was the contact information for a number of current or former Aura customers. Aura user accounts were not accessed.
Thank you,
Brie
