Connie Britton landed a role in FX’s upcoming miniseries which chronicles the controversial trial of former football star O.J. Simpson.
The Nashville star will play as socialite Faye Resnick, the best friend of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson. She has been cast in FX’s most anticipated miniseries American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. The miniseries is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book, The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Murphy thought Britton would be perfect to play Resnick, the woman who wrote a controversial memoir about her friendship with Simpson’s wife in 1994. During Simpson’s trial, his defense team claimed that Nicole and alleged lover Ronald Goldman were murdered by drug dealers from whom Resnick owed money.
