  • It was a who’s-who of the modeling industry at this year’s 50th Anniversary party for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, as beauties such as Heidi Klum, Marrisa Miller, Chrissy Teigen and Kate Upton were all in attendance, leaving both onlookers and photographers in complete awe.

But probably the person who received the most attention is the legendary model Christie Brinkley, as she showed up on the red carpet in a short stylish black number, looking younger and more attractive then many of the other models half her age.

Amazingly, Brinkley turns 60 in a few weeks, although she could easily pass for someone in her 30s or perhaps younger. In fact, when you compare her photos on the red carpet to that of Ireland Baldwin– who’s 18-years-old and the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger–you might have to look twice to notice the significant age difference.

In a 2012 interview with the Examiner, Brinkley shared some of her beauty secrets and said if you want ageless skin you’ll have to avoid the sun as much as you can. “I’ve given up the sun now,” she said. “I’ve got all the effects now [of being in the sun when I was younger]. I occasionally get hydroxy peels at the doctor’s office to reverse sun damage.”

However, Brinkley still likes a nice tan, so instead of sitting on the beach all day, she’ll use a self-tanning product, but just one–L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze. It has “no streaking, no stripes, it just applies so easily,” she said. “It’s really just a brilliant delivery system for this product.”

But it isn’t just about skin protection, says the the 5’9 model, it’s also about getting your daily nutrients, and the best way to do that is by choosing veggies with a variety of colors.

“For many, many, many years I’ve always said I go for as many colors as possible in a day,” she explained. “That’s my main concept for making sure my kids get all the nutrients, making sure they get the deep greens, yellows and reads and purples, all of that. That’s just an overarching concept to the way I like to eat, along with the whole idea of variety in exercise, variety in food with the colors. I like to vary what I have.”
