Cecile Richards was not shy when it came to defending her health care organization. The Planned Parenthood chief blasts—in her own words—“militant anti-abortion extremists” who recently released secretly recorded videos of her doctors allegedly discussing fetal tissue payments.
The Planned Parenthood Federation of America president said that the videos released by the Center for Medical Progress were procured in bad faith. She accused the “militants” of this premeditated attack to trap the organization’s doctors that facilitate fetal tissue donations.

“This has been a three-year, well-funded effort by the most militant wing of the anti-abortion movement in this country to try to entrap doctors,” Richards said.
The videos show unknown individuals, posing as fetal tissue buyers, discussing the procedures and payments with Planned Parenthood doctors Dr. Deborah Nucatola and Dr. Mary Gatter.
The Center for Medical Progress and other anti-abortion groups have long speculated that Planned Parenthood financially benefits from fetal organs taken from the aborted.
Richards, however, insisted that the sensationalized videos were severely edited to show clips detrimental to Planned Parenthood. According to her, the videos do not show the doctors repeatedly stating the non-profit nature of the organization’s fetal tissue donation for medical research.
Planned Parenthood dismissed the profit allegations, stating that the payments discussed in the videos were strictly for reimbursement.
The Center for Medical Progress’ David Daleiden predicted Planned Parenthood’s counterattack in a released statement. He affirmed his stand on the videos exposing the organization as an “enterprise-wide operation that traffics and sells baby parts.”
Caught in the crossfire are also two warring parties, the Democrats and the Republicans.
GOP representatives are now taking action towards the cutting of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding. However, Democrats such as Hillary Clinton came to Richards’ aid, claiming that the smear campaign against the non-profit organization is “an attack on women’s right to choose.”
