Borderlands 2 Declares Itself Game of the Year in New Video

We’re nearing the holiday season and publishers are beginning to wring the last few sales out of recent big game releases. Already The Elder Scrolls Anthology and Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition are tempting collectors and gamers shrewd enough to wait a year to buy games and their add-on content at a lower price.

Now 2K Games and Gearbox have done the same with Borderlands 2. The Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition was released this week enticing gamers with more loot than ever.

Sure, declaring a title “Game of the Year” in October is pretentious, but Gearbox has done an admirable job of supporting the game for over one year now. The new collection includes an impressive amount of content that was released post-launch, including all four DLC campaigns, the two added character classes, and a whole host of skins, upgrades, and add-ons, including a “Golden Key.”

The new “Celebration” video for the self-declaration does a good job of highlighting all the best parts of Borderlands 2 and its DLC, while providing a bit more Claptrap Schadenfreude:
