Bobby Brown has made no secret of the fact that he and his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, had an estranged relationship for quite some time. They had worked hard in the past couple of years to rebuild that relationship, and he expected they’d have a lifetime to make it even better and stronger. Sadly, that day won’t come.

Johnny Gill is a member of New Edition. He has spent a great deal of time supporting Bobby Brown in recent days, since Bobbi Kristina was moved to a hospice facility.

“State of mind? In a nutshell, not good. Not good,” Gill said of Bobby Brown. “We just had a conversation yesterday. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.”

“It was no secret that Bobby and Bobbi Kris had an estranged relationship for a certain period of time,” Gill added. “One Father’s Day, it was a few years back, she called and he was just so over the top and elated that she had reached out. They started from that point to rebuild that part of their relationship.”

Both the Brown and the Houston families have come together as one during this horrific time. Watching and waiting for a 22-year-old to take her last breath has got to be agonizing. Bobbi Kristina Brown had been in a medically induced coma since she was discovered unconscious in her bathtub back on January 31st. Doctors recently said there is nothing more they can do to help the only child of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Brown had his daughter moved to a hospice facility last week, to live out her last days with her family by her side.

A lawsuit has been filed against Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, alleging he assaulted her in the hours before she was discovered in the bathtub. Bobby Brown has not allowed Gordon to visit Bobbi Kristina in the hospital, the rehab center, or the hospice facility.

Kudos to people like Johnny Gill for supporting Bobby Brown. Tyler Perry spent part of Sunday with Brown and the Houston family at Bobbi Kristina’s bedside. These people can’t take away the pain Bobby Brown and the rest of Bobbi Kristina’s family–aunt Pat Houston, grandmother Cissy Houston–are experiencing, but they can convey a sense of togetherness and love.

Given Bobby Brown’s present state of mind, he desperately needs the support of those he holds dear.
