Bobbi Kristina Brown was discovered facedown and unconscious in the bathtub of the Roswell, Georgia home she shared with her boyfriend Nick Gordon just over two months ago. Today she lies in a medically induced coma in an Atlanta rehab facility.

Last week Cissy Houston shared her thoughts on Bobbi Kristina’s recovery, saying that hope is fading. Now Chaka Khan, singer and close friend of the late Whitney Houston, admits she wasn’t shocked to learn about Bobbi Kristina Brown, but definitely saddened by it anyway.

“I can’t say I was shocked…but I was definitely hurt, disappointed. I’ve been in conversation with the family,” she said in a Mirror UK Online report. “Everyone’s devastated, everyone. I love Bobbi Kristina, I love Whitney, I love Bobby Brown. I love Cissy–I love them all.”

Chaka Khan–like many people–believes prayer is Bobbi Kristina Brown’s only hope.

“But we just have to wait for what happens next. All I want to do is be there for them,” she said. “I just need to pray.”

Cissy Houston said during a radio interview last week that she prays a bit differently.

“I don’t pray like that,” Bobbi Kristina Brown’s grandmother explained. “I give it to God one time, because I know he’s able, and I cannot change a thing. So I’m asking everyone to pray to the Lord, who we know can do something about it.”

“If he works a miracle, thank God,” Cissy Houston added. “If it happens the other way, I’m all right.”

Members of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family–her dad Bobby Brown, for one–are clinging to hope that prayers can save Bobbi Kristina.

A criminal investigation into what happened on that fateful day two months ago is being conducted by the Roswell, Georgia Police Department. It hasn’t been confirmed as to whether Nick Gordon is under investigation or not.

Chaka Khan and Cissy Houston have faith that God will do what He deems best for Bobbi Kristina Brown. Bobby Brown doesn’t seem ready to hand the burden over just yet, however.
