Last week, Ubisoft and VICE teamed up to produce a history documentary series based on the real historical pirates that populate Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The first episode explored the life of Charles Vane – the most dangerous pirate to have ever lived. Now the second episode is out, and it tackles history’s most infamous pirate.
In episode two of Rum, Guns and Gallows, VICE travels to Jamaica to learn more about Blackbeard. While there, they visit an illegal distillery operation that produces the kind of rum that Blackbeard and other pirates would have drank. This isn’t the stuff that you mix with some coke on the weekends either. This rum could easily kill you if you aren’t careful.
The final episode of Ubisoft’s and VICE’s documentary series will look at the life of Calico Jack. There’s no trailer for it yet, however, so we don’t know where the VICE film crew will end up next.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launches on October 29 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U. It will launch later in November for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
