StyleSeat has some angels are their side. A total of $775,000 has been raised by Ashton Kutcher, Sophia Bush and other angel investors including Founders Fund. StyleSeat considers itself a social network for beauty and wellness professionals to attract clients and grow. It offers free tools for beauty and haircare professionals to manage and build their businesses online. Melody McCloskey, CEO for StyleSeat said, “We’re empowering a massive industry of small businesses to do what they love and make more money.”

StyleSeat has booked over $17 million in salon appointments since last spring when it was launched. It now has over 40,000 users. StyleSeat uses a freemium model and charges a $25 fee to users for marketing features, CRM and expanded booking capabilities. The online reservations platform will utilize the “Open Table” format that has been powerful and successful for Doctors and other professionals.
