During a recent interview with On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Ashley Tisdale opened up about her engagement to Christopher French and the release of her new song You’re Always Here.
Tisdale and French started dating in December 2012 and instantly fell in love. Only eight short months later, in August, French popped the question, asking Tisdale to marry him. Although the relationship moved at whirlwind speed, Tisdale said yes, and says she knew it was right from the start.
“You know, I didn’t [think it’d happen that quickly],” she admitted. “I think I’ve obviously been in long relationships in the past, but I think because of knowing what I wanted, I wouldn’t have gone into a relationship, if it wasn’t what I wanted. And I think from the moment that him and I met, I just knew it.”
Tisdale continued gushing over her soon-to-be husband, saying “it doesn’t get any better.” “I was like, ‘OK, this is the guy.’ And he knew the same thing. It was just this feeling that it doesn’t get any better. I can’t explain it!” she said. “It’s just natural between us. With other relationships, you’re trying too much and trying to make it work and then there’s just a moment when you find somebody and you’re like, ‘Holy s–t! This is so natural.'” Tisdale is starting the wedding planning process, however she still has not set a date, and says that the ceremony will be as small and private as possible. “We want to make it as small and as private as we can get it,” she said.

Not only is Tisdale planning her upcoming wedding, she is also continuing her music career and recently released a new single titled, You’re Always Here. Tisdale wrote the song in memory of her grandfather who passed away three months ago, and has dedicated the very emotional song to him.
“With all the amazing stuff that’s happened this year, some moments haven’t been so amazing. I lost my grandfather exactly three months ago and it’s always hard to lose someone,” she said. ”I was inspired to start writing and it was helping me heal and I would go on walks and come home and have written stuff and Chris, who produces music, sat down and produced and we wrote this song together and that’s the song for my grandfather.”
