Ariana Grande: Should Fans Be Afraid?

Ariana Grande apparently isn’t the innocent young girl many people believe her to be. In fact, the ‘Problem’ singer has a bit of a dark past–at least with regard to whom she idolized when she was younger.

Ariana is featured in the latest issue of Billboard magazine, and within its pages she reveals a few things most people didn’t know about the former–and seemingly very sweet–Sam & Cat sweetheart.

Before examining those she idolized–hopefully past-tense–first take a look at whom she idolizes now. Ariana Grande absolutely adores Madonna. Hopefully that doesn’t mean the cone bra will soon be making a comeback. You have to admit you can see traces of Madge in the outfit Ariana chose to promote her soon-to-be-released album ‘My Everything.’

“She is strength, she is freedom, she is wisdom beyond anybody’s comprehension,” Grande says of the ‘Material Girl.’

Dubbed ‘a very weird little girl’ during her childhood, fans will no doubt be shocked to learn that Ariana Grande considers herself to be a ‘mini version’ of actress Helena Bonham Carter. The biggest surprise will likely come when they hear how she idolized Freddy Krueger. Maybe she still does?

“I always wanted to have face paint on or be wearing a Freddy Krueger mask, and I would carry a hockey stick around,” she admits.

The singer is already talking Halloween, and it’s only August. At least her idea for this year’s costume doesn’t look too frightening–at least not yet.

Ariana’s fifth birthday party should have been a clear sign to her parents, neighbors, family members, and friends that something was just a little bit amiss.

“For my fifth birthday party we had a Jaws theme and all my friends left crying. I mean, I still am that way. But when I was little it was more concerning,” Grande said. “There was a stage, when I was 3 or 4, where my mom thought I might grow up to be a serial killer.”

The moral of this story is to never judge a book by its cover. That said, don’t go into a dark, deserted alley with Ariana Grande. Who knows what she might do or whom she might conjure up to accompany you during your time there.

Fans, it’s probably best to love Ariana Grande from afar–listening to her tunes in safe locations–and attending her concerts only while accompanied by bodyguards.

It might be wise to skip any and all meet-and-greets.
