Apple has reportedly acquired PRSS, a Dutch digital magazine platform creator, which enables users to turn content into digital magazines for the iPad.
iCulture first reported on the acquisition.
TechCrunch shares a statement from Apple, which is basically the same one they always give when asked whether or not they’ve acquired companies theyve acquired:
Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.
The PRSS website is currently down, which could probably be considered further confirmation.
It’s unclear what Apple might have planned for this acquisition, but it’s likely that they’re just adding some people who know what they’re doing to the team to continue to build out existing Apple products.
Apple already has iBooks Author (pictured), which offers use the ability to create multi-touch books for the iPad.
