Anonymous is continuing their takedown of sites in some way associated with the fact that the Department of Justice took down popular filesharing site MegaUpload earlier today. The latest victims? The Recording Industry Association of America and the Motion Picture Association of America.
Anonymous/Megaupload backlash update: http://t.co/iOMRwwrS is now Tango Down | #OpPayback #OpMegaupload #SOPA #PIPA
ALERT: Motion Picture Association of America http://t.co/Xv7EPvlI TANGO DOWN! #Megaupload
Anonymous Groups in other parts of the world are also joining in on the fun:
via @OccupyOregon Recording Industry Association of America site (http://t.co/gIKSQ0wU) taken down in response to #Megaupload. Who’s next?
#OpMegaUpload Our Pwnies are with you! #ExpectUs http://t.co/ZoCJdC0C
TARGET http://t.co/yxvcug7y FIRE!!! #Megaupload #Anonymous
The first site to go down in what is being referring to as #OpPayback was the Department of Justice. Next came Universal Music’s site. This is definitely the biggest coordinated attack we’ve seen out of Anonymous in some time. As the frequency of these takedowns increases, it’s fair to assume that this could continue through the night.
