Anchorman 2 is one of those films that has been anticipated by fans of the first film for way too long, and now we are finally rewarded with the sequel nine years after the first film was released. Today, two new trailers were presented by Paramount, with new information to give fans a heads up of what to expect with the new film.

A ton of promotion has been done for the film already, including the first teaser trailer, which was launched in January. In addition, Will Ferrell recently launched several ads for the new Dodge Durango while in his character of Ron Burgundy, in order to advertise the new film.

As if the previous promotion was not enough, the film also revealed a new flavor of Ben and Jerry's ice cream conveniently titled "Scotchy Scotch Scotch," a nod to a famous quote of Ron Burgundy's from the first film.

The sequel is titled Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, and features all of the fan favorites from Anchorman including Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, and David Koechner. In addition, female comedic superstars Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Kristen Wiig have all been brought on board fro the sequel, as well as a host of others. The full cast listing can be seen here.

The new clips feature a bit of insight into the new film, and show audiences that the sequel will not simply be a rehash of the plot of the original film. In this film, Ron Burgundy and his crew will be posed with the task of leaving San Diego for New York, with the plan of launching a 24-hour news channel.

This film will once again be directed by Adam McKay and will be co-written by McKay and Ferrell. The new Anchorman 2 trailer should be enough to get any fan or non-fan of the first film excited for a great new comedy, with a whole slew of high caliber comedic actors, including some that have gained much recognition since the first film.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be released on December 20, but you can get a sneak peek now.
