A new infographic released by Marketing Zeus outlines some revealing details about how money is distributed among the sexes in America. According to a Virginia Tech study, 60% of all personal wealth and 51% of all stocks in America are held by women.
You’d think that advertisers and marketers would sit up and take notice of that. But, 91% of women say that advertisers do not understand them. That is a huge gap, given that 84% of purchases and purchase influences are made by women and 50% of all products marketed to men are actually purchased by women.
Maybe those Axe commercials have it all wrong. And the Old Spice commercials have it right.
