26-year old actress Amanda Bynes was arrested in L.A. last week for driving under the influence after she reportedly hit a police car while trying to change lanes, but her father says his daughter doesn't drink and that the fault lies with the officer for pulling out in front of her.
"She was not drunk," Rick Bynes said. "I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn't have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn't drink."
Bynes claims his daughter was arrested because she was overly emotional and upset after being pulled over, but his protests bring new questions to the surface; if she wasn't drinking, could she have been under the influence of another substance? Fans have speculated on her state of mind since she announced in 2010 that she was "retiring" from acting at the ripe old age of 24; she made a short-lived comeback in the 2011 film "Easy A".
In the wake of her father's claims, TMZ has reported that they have video of Bynes leaving a club just a couple of weeks before her arrest and getting behind the wheel while obviously inebriated.
