Amanda Bynes Bong Case May Be Dismissed

  • Since being home from rehab, Amanda Bynes has been on her best behavior and has stayed out of the media for the most part. Her good behavior could help her out with her current bong-tossing charges, if she continues it. A judge recently ordered that if Bynes continues to behave and agrees to go to counseling twice a week, the charges against her will be dropped.

Bynes was charged with reckless endangerment and marijuana possession when police were called to her apartment because building managers had reported that she was smoking pot in the lobby. When the police arrived at Bynes’ apartment, they caught her throwing a bong out the window.

Bynes was arrested and seemed to be out of it when she appeared in court for the charges wearing a messy wig, claiming she was innocent. Bynes continued on her downward spiral for several months until she was institutionalized after starting a fire in the driveway of a home in Thousand Oaks, California.

Bynes stayed in the inpatient mental health treatment facility until December of last year. After leaving the facility, she moved in with her parents and seems to be doing much better. Recent photos of Bynes show her looking healthy and she know longer wears strange wigs or clothing.

If Bynes can manage to stick to the rules set by the judge, she will not have to go back to court and the charges will be dismissed. If Bynes refuses to go to counseling as required or is arrested within the next 6 months, the case will not be dropped and Bynes will have to fight the charges in court.
