Alibaba is close to deploying its ChatGPT competitor as the company works to compete with its Big Tech rivals.

Companies throughout the tech industry are rushing to develop and deploy AI, with Microsoft and OpenAI leading the way. Google and Baidu have both announced AI chatbots of their own, however and now Alibaba is close to releasing its own.

According to BBC News, Alibaba plans to deploy its chatbot across its entire product line in the “near future,” although it did not give details on when that may be.

“We are at a technological watershed moment driven by generative AI and cloud computing,” said Alibaba’s chairman and chief executive, Daniel Zhang.

Alibaba’s announcement comes at a time when China is preparing to regulate AI, with the Cyberspace Administration of China introducing rules to govern its development.
