A new unauthorized biography claims that Adele was dumped by her boyfriend for a man and the incident is allegedly the subject of her first album 19.
According the biography by Marc Shipiro, Adele poured her heart out to the mystery guy, and said mystery guy revealed that he was leaving her for one of Adele’s friends. And that he was cheating on her for 4 months.
“Adele had professed her love and he did the same, she had known he was bisexual but, in the rush of romance, felt they could make it work… Four hours after laying their emotional cards on the table, the boy ran off with one of Adele’s gay friends!”
Adele alludes to the fact that the album is at least some what autobiographical on her website, writing, “My debut album is about being between 18 and 19; about love.”
She mentions that specifically the song Daydreamer is about what Chipiro describes in the book: “‘Daydreamer’ is about this boy I was in love with, like proper in love with, he was bi and I couldn’t deal with that. All the things I wanted from my boyfriend, he was never going to be, I get really jealous anyway, so I couldn’t fight with girls and boys.”
Adele and the ‘Daydreamer’ guy tried to mend their relationship later on, but it didn’t work out. She is now in a relationship with Simon Konecki.
