Well, the rivalry between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers just got even more interesting.

The two teams have met twice this season already and while they split the meetings, the 49ers fans continue to taunt them about the fact that the Seahawks have yet to win a Super Bowl.

The die hard 49ers fans have raised enough money, and are set to put up a 49ers billboard in Seattle in order to taunt their west coast rivals.

The group’s initial goal was to bring in $7,000 to cover the cost of the billboard, and as of Wednesday afternoon, the fund had $8,945.

Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick have been great competition for one another since they entered the league, but while the San Francisco 49ers got to the Super Bowl last year, Wilson has yet to take his team there.

Seattle has still never won the Super Bowl, but the 49ers have a total of five Super Bowl trophies, and fully intend to brag about that on their upcoming 49ers billboard.

The image of the 49ers’ Super Bowl trophies will serve as the backdrop to an image of “The Catch” a famous play in 49ers’ history when former wide receiver Dwight Clark had a game-winning reception from Joe Montana in the 1982 NFC Championship game vs. the Dallas Cowboys. It has also been said that the group plans to keep the 49ers billboard up for “at least one month, all during December and some of January for their playoff games.”

The plan is for the fans to purchase the space for a 49ers billoard in Seattle, and taunt them about the fact that they have yet to win. The billboard is actually an act of retaliation after Seahawks fans’ bought a brick at the 49ers’ new stadium and arranged earlier this month for a 12th Man banner to be flown over Candlestick Park, home of the 49ers.

The Seahawks fans have been loud all year, even setting the record for loudest stadium twice, which is the significance of their “12th Man” banner, a nickname that has been given because of their dedicated fans. This has caused the 49ers fans to want to prove that they are truly the better team, and come up with the idea for a 49ers billboard.

While the project is only expected to cost $7,000, the remaining money will be contributed to a Seattle’s Children’s Hospital, according to project manager Aasheesh Shravah.

Currently, the Seattle Seahawks are the best team in the league with a record of 10-2, and if they make it to the Super Bowl this year, it may be a little embarrassing for those 49ers fans that came up with the elaborate plan for the 49ers billboard.

The San Francisco 49ers have a record of 10-4, and hold the second spot in the NFC West, while the Seahawks own the top spot. The Seahawks have been outstanding all year with the help of Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch, but what will happen if the two west coast powerhouses meet again in the playoffs?
