A lawyer, a therapist and a retired travel agent walk onto a plane. It sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, but three women experienced anything but last night as they were unceremoniously ejected from a flight after verbally objecting to the behavior and attitude of a boorish flight attendant.

The three women were homeward bound on a flight to New York last night when a male flight attendant was allegedly handling one woman’s carry-on baggage rather brutishly. She objected, but was swiftly ignored. Moments later, another woman requested assistance with her seat from the same flight attendant but was met with pointed (yeah, sorry about that pun) hostility as the attendant refused to even acknowledge her request. Before takeoff, the flight attendant ordered both women to be removed from the flight, at which point a third woman conscientiously objected to the mistreatment of her fellow passengers. For her objection, the flight attendant went for the hat trick and kicked her off, as well. WPTV in West Palm Beach, FL, has this segment about the event:

Despite this being a bummer of a story, kudos to the quick-thinking passenger that thought to snap a picture of the offensive flight attendant (it’s unclear whether it was one of the three women or another passenger). Upon hearing this unbecoming news, the Twitterscape responded:

AirTran is a subsidiary of Southwest Airlines, neither of whom have provided any comment on the incident, but there was this post – I swear to God I’m not making this up – from Southwest Airlines’ Twitter account about fifteen hours ago:

Going on a girls trip to NYC? Meeting your long lost
sweetheart in MDW? Share your Southwest story with a TV audience! http://t.co/onoqeFGZ 15 hours ago via CoTweet · powered by @socialditto

Probably not the kind of “girls trip” you had in mind, Southwest. Probably not.
