  • Gisele Bundchen made a surprise visit to a 15-year-old girl battling bone cancer on Dec. 26 to trade beauty and makeup secrets with the aspiring make-up artist.

Karina Xavier, a teen fashion blogger who posts style tips on her website ChicByKarina.com, hopes to one day be a professional makeup artist. And she was able to show off her skills to Bunchen by applying make-up to the supermodel.

The young make-up artist, and fellow Brazilian, later shared a Facebook picture of the surprise visit from the supermodel, saying:

“From the moment you surprised me, until the moment you left, I was so shocked for you being here with me! Thank you so much for taking time off of your day to come visit me and spend some time with me! Also thank you for your kind words and your very meaningful gifts! You are a great person and you will continue inspiring me I love you @giseleofficial And to my followers: Stay tuned for something special on my blog!!! I’m so happy!!!!!!”

Bunchen also posted her own thoughts on the visit and of the young cancer victim, “You are warrior, an inspiration of positivity and courage. I will be praying for you. Sending you love and light always.”

This was a far different Instagram post from one that Bundchen posted earlier this month. In the previous post, she shared a picture showing herself breastfeeding while getting her makeup done for a photo shoot.

Alongside the picture she said, “What would I do without this beauty squad after the 15 hours flying and only 3 hours of sleep #multitasking#gettingready.”

The picture of Bundchen sparked some criticism and debate about breastfeeding.

“Some people here think they don’t have to breastfeed, and I think, ‘Are you going to give chemical food to your child, when they are so little?’ There should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months,” she said.
