El Chupacabra decided to make an appearance at a Mississippi town just in time for Halloween. Residents of quiet Picayune, Mississippi have reported seeing a hairless creature that matches the description of the legendary Chupacabra. El Chupacabra translates to goat sucker and the creatures have been sighted all over the world. Sometimes they are photographed or video taped and the bodies of many alleged Chupacabras have been collected and studied to determine what type of animal the Chupacabra really is.

An 11 year old boy was lucky enough to capture photos of the Mississippi Chupacabra that has been terrorizing residents over the last few days. In the pictures, the creature appears to be similar to a dog. It is dark in color, hairless and has a long nose. Although several people have seen the creature, animal control specialists were not able to locate it.

Experts believe that El Chupacabra is likely a common creature that is either sick or being seen in motion or awkward positions that make it seem as if it is something else. Many Chupacabras have turned out to be dogs or coyotes with mange or other illnesses.

Master Sergeant David Burnette of he Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks believed the Mississippi Chupacabra is a hariless coyote that is sick, injured or near death. He believes it is lingering close to homes and people because it is hoping for an easy meal.

‘It’s probably sick, weak, and not able to hunt on its own, so it’s going to the nearest food source it can find,” he said.

He advised residents to avoid the creature and continue to report sightings until it is caught.
