Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar joined Mike Huckabee in a roundtable discussion at an event in Iowa today that was billed as the America Takes Action for Iowa Homeschool Day.
The Duggars were on hand to “talk about the importance of educational choice and the other conservative policies and principles.”
According to the organization website, “Homeschool Iowa Capitol Day provides our Iowa legislators an opportunity to “put a face to homeschooling” by briefly chatting with friendly homeschooling families, face-to-face.”
The event took place at the Airport Holiday Inn in Des Moines. The roundtable discussion was just part of the proceedings. Also on the bill for the day’s activities were Ted Cruz, Bobby Jindal, and Rick Santorum.
America Takes Action is Mike Huckabee’s organization. According to their website, America Takes Action aims “to activate citizens and help them engage in the public arena for the causes, values and principles we hold most sacred.”
These issues include such classic Conservative topics as:
Immigration overhaul
Life
Reducing the size of government
Sanctity of marriage
Standing with Israel
Strong national defense
Tax reform
These and other topics were what the Duggars were on hand to support.
While “educational choice” is important to the Duggars, the freedom to choose which bathroom one should go to while at school is not. Michelle Duggar famously called transgender men “males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female.”
She recorded a robocall that opposed allowing “men – yes I said men – to use women’s and girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only.”
