There are tons of zombie games currently cluttering the video game market, yet I continue to purchase and play them regardless of how much I complain about the fact that there are tons of zombie games currently cluttering the video game market. If you've been wondering who keeps dropping cold, hard cash for these silly little time-wasters, feel free to direct your narrowed gaze in my general direction. I'm as guilty as the next zombie-obsessed horror nerd.
Zynga, creators of "FarmVille" and "Mafia Wars", will debut their latest creation "ZombieSmash!" on Google Play this week. The game is one of those "easy to learn/hard to master" affairs that allows players to thoroughly crush and destroy legions of blood-thirsty, flesh-munching zombies, complete with rag doll physics and copious amounts of zombified blood. After all, these games aren't nearly as fun to play unless there's a plethora of carnage involved.
The official product description:
Test your survival skills while teaming up with unlikely allies in ZombieSmash !
ZombieSmash! is a “Survival Comedy” game, featuring undead-themed castle defense and entertaining, physics-based gameplay. The game casts players as Joey, a lone survivor pit against a herd of writhing, unrelenting zombies - to defeat the undead masses, players must use their fingers to flick and smash them until they're un-undead.
Curious parties will have over 30 upgrades and special weapons to choose from over the course of their adventure. Weapons in the game's arsenal include asteroids, wrecking balls, liquid nitrogen, and gigantic rolling boulders, giving even the most hardened gore hounds plenty of nasty objects to cream their rotting opponents with. "ZombieSmash!" also includes four distinctly different game modes. Here they are, in no particular order:
Campaign Mode: Challenges players to survive for over 31 intense days against the mounting zombie threat and another 30 nights in the Camp Nowhere campaign
Endless Siege Mode: Confronts players with a never-ending zombie assault - hold out as long as possible, racking up an ever-rising body count
Sandbox Mode: Gives players all the tools to rain destruction down on those stinking, moaning, godless zombies without any of the peril
Bonus Nights: Smash and destroy zombies in new ways. Unlock this special mode through extended gameplay and by using your braaains!
Android users will have access to the game within the next few days. If you happen to live in Canada, the game is already available for mass consumption on Google Play. Those of you who are iOS crazy can head on over the App Store and download a copy right now. To prepare your tender minds for the oncoming onslaught, feast your eyes on the promotional images below.
