The official World’s Shortest Escalator is located in Kawasaki, Japan and is only five steps long…which begs the question, “Why?”

At just under 32 inches high, the escalator made it into the Guinness Book of World Records and is located in More’s Department Store. One visitor to the store rode it seven times…and it still probably only took about a minute.
