Victoria Beckham Guest Edits Christmas Vogue Paris

By: Lindsay McCane - November 29, 2013

Ex-Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, and her husband, David Beckham, look stunning on the Christmas Edition of Vogue Paris. The pictures captured the love that the couple shares, and were so amazing that Vogue Paris decided to create two separate covers for the issue.

Not only was Victoria the guest model for the issue, she also helped design the issue as a guest editor. Victoria says that it was an “incredible honor” to be asked to help edit the Christmas edition of the magazine, and along with her husband, she worked alongside a talented group of people to create the holiday special.

Emmanuelle Alt, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, described Victoria as the perfect woman to have helping with the issue. “We entrusted the editor’s chair for this issue to a woman who revealed herself to be the absolute opposite of her public image while we were working together. Spontaneous and full of humor, she’s modest, with a healthy dose of ambition. And like all those who are truly passionate about what they do, Victoria is a perfectionist,” Alt said.

“Being asked to be the guest editor of the Christmas issue of Vogue Paris this year was an incredible honor,” Victoria said. “Working with Emmanuelle Alt and her team was both exciting and inspiring and I am so proud of what we have created.”

The issue will also offer an article on Victoria, where she shares personal Christmas memories and photos. She talks about her relationship with her hubby and also the fashion empire that she has worked so hard to create. “I love fashion, I love this craft… I have big dreams, great hopes and I want this label to still be relevant in 20, 30, 40… 50 years,” she said. She also revealed that she would like to develop a children’s clothing line in the future. “‘At some point I would love to do that, but having kids there’s so much to do,” she said. “Working and having four kids is tough, but I will get there. There’s a lot of things to do, but if you organize yourself in the right way you can get it all done.”

I find all these articles hilarious. As if people actually believe Victoria is a dedicated mom, she is running her companies, she is a model, a dedicated wife and a visionary who guest edits major magazines. Please. I run a company. One company. It isn’t even that big and I work 12 hours a freaking day. Doing actual work. I also date a model – a real one – and that is a lot of work for her. There is no way in the world that Beckham is doing all those things. She has nannies and people who run her companies. She is a name. That is all. Just like Kim Kardashian or Jessica Alba. I am sorry there just isn’t enough time in a day to do all the things listed above. Just look at your own lives and see how little time you have. Don’t forget to add time for sleep, eating, grooming, traveling, sex, and in Beckham’s case — she parties a lot.

Nothing against Beckham. For all I know, she is a great person. I just hate when people push this idea that women can do it all — it is an illusion that stupid people fall for and has actually caused people to have very unrealistic expectations about life and relationships. So many women think they are failures because they are told they can do it all. They get upset in their relationships and think the grass is greener somewhere else. Then divorces happen. Then they find out the reality but it is too late. Lives and families are destroyed and society becomes less stable.

All because people buy into a bullshit illusion. Don’t believe the hype people. It is all an illusion.
