It looks like Chinese Twitter, Weibo, has jumped on the death hoax bandwagon. The only problem is that we’re not so sure this time.
Users on Chinese microblogging site Weibo are messaging that Kim Jong-Un, son of Kim Jong-Il and new leader of North Korea, was assassinated at the North Korean embassy in Beijing this morning.
The major problem with this rumor is that it’s not easily verified to be true or false. It’s a sensitive political climate where the littlest thing could cause big shockwaves throughout Asia.
The only evidence we have for now is a picture of a lot of cars pulled up at the North Korean embassy. Chinese Weibo users are speculating that it could have been a military coup.
Twitter, like Weibo, has exploded with the news. A lot of people are just unsure and many are trying to confirm whether or not he has been assassinated. Nobody knows, but the Twitter reactions should help pass the time while we wait for any official news.
Kim Jong Un dead or Kim Jong Undead. Remember kids, spacing is the difference between assassinations and zombies.
Anyone heard from Kim Jong Un? Dude was supposed to call me when he got to Beijing.
Rumours of my fave North Korean being dead (Kim Jong Un), bit upset, that's my two favourite North Koreans in 3 months gone :'(
Kim Jong-Un neither denies nor confirms rumors of his death.
Kim Jong-Un can't be dead! He had yet to live up to his humorous potential.
I love how the mainstream media are ignoring the tweets coming out of China about Kim Jong-Un being dead.

These rumors of Kim Jong-un's assassination are totally FALSE. We've been playing online chess for the last hour.
