This Kid Doesn’t Have A Problem With Ndamukong Suh

By: Chris Crum - December 10, 2012

Detroit Lions DT Ndamukong Suh has taken a lot of heat in the media lately. Okay, throughout his entire NFL career, but especially lately (and especially since his foot met Texans QB Matt Schaub’s groin on Thanksgiving Day). After that, he was accused of taunting an injured Colts player, and even in Sunday night’s defeat against the Packers, he had a late hit on QB Aaron Rodgers. He’s even been voted the dirtiest player in the NFL by his fellow players.

Even still, there are kids looking up to the man, and he’s well aware of this fact. WXYZ TV, an ABC affiliate in Detroit recently ran this segment showing Suh “making a wish come true” for a little boy with CANDLE syndrome, a rare autoinflammatory disease.

Suh is certainly not the only player to lend himself to such situations, but this video, which has received next to zero media attention, outside of the local station which aired it, shows that the scary football beast does indeed have a heart.

Give me a break, these football players don’t do this because they care, they are forced by the agents and get incentives in their contracts for appearances and charity work. This is the biggest scam and everyone falls for it.

You think that matters to the kid?

  • Fed Up

You’re right, I read that players earn incentives for charity work. Otherwise there wouldn’t be camera’s around if it was truely a charitible act from the heart. All these charity events have camera’s and news covering it, there is a reason, it’s fake.

Regardless of any incentives, the kid still got to meet his favorite player.

He is doing this now because he was laying on his back on the field and decided to kick the opposing team’s quarterback in the balls. They fined him too. He also stomped on a player who was on his back, in a game last season. He is a Bad example for kids to follow and should be kept away from them.

Football is a violent and rough sport if players cant handle pain they should play chess. Suh works hard to be the player he is and that little boy met his idol, dont judge, be happy for that little boys joy!

This isn’t a one time thing. My neighbors little league football team played during a Lions halftime game, and before taking the field, Such literally got down on his knees, eye level with the kids, and shook all of their hands for a game well played. He really is a genuine guy! Love having him as a Lion and his positive impact around the community!

Suh’s charitable acts are generous. When he was playing for Nebraska alot of the times they went to hospitals/did things around Nebraska, there wasn’t any cameras around. They did it from their hearts.

Suh plays with aggression and passion, something NFL players often lack once they start getting their paychecks. He’s a big guy. People are going to get hurt, that’s part of the game.
