  • The first trailer for “The Sound of My Voice” is now online. The film follows a young couple who infiltrates an underground cult in the Los Angeles area in an attempt to debunk the claim that its leader is from the year 2054.

    As you might imagine, the longer they stay underground with the cult, the more they start to question everything they know and slowly begin to buy into the craziness. The film was written, and stars, Brit Marling who claims she did a ton of research for the film with several cults in the L.A. area. You can check out the trailer below:

    Below is the official synopsis for the film:

    In SOUND OF MY VOICE, Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a couple and documentary filmmaking team, infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling). Intent on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the followers from her grip, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective and each other as they unravel the secrets of Maggie’s underworld.

    The fim premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, and will be released by Fox Searchlight Pictures on April 27, 2012.
