PeoplePC Offers Low Cost Internet Service

PeoplePC, a provider of low cost Internet service and a subsidiary of EarthLink, has introduced "Connect for Less," an economy Internet access service aimed at helping users save money.

PeoplePC says its Connect for Less service is available for $7.95 a month or about 25 cents per day and it offers unlimited dial-up Internet access at 20 percent less than it competitors.

Google Loses EarthLink In Wi-Fi Deal

If and when Google’s plans for providing wireless Internet service in San Francisco go forward, it will be without the participation of financially troubled partner EarthLink.

EarthLink recently announced it would shed some 900 jobs as part of its restructuring, but that wasn’t the end of its last-ditch efforts to stay afloat. The company won’t be Google’s Wi-Fi partner in San Francisco as a result.
