Selma Blair, Kate Wales is ReplacedBy: Jennifer Curra - August 7, 2013
Anyone looking forward to seeing Selma Blair reprise the role of Kate Wales for season three of FX’s Anger Management will be disappointed to hear that her replacement has been finalized. While it was released in June that Selma would not be returning to the show due to interpersonal conflicts between herself and Charlie Sheen, the new female lead has just recently been cast.
The studio previously released the following statement, “We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to ‘Anger Management’ and we wish her the very best.”
Original reports claim that disputes occurred because Selma vocally announced her discontent with Charlie Sheen’s tardiness and work ethic. Once Mr. Sheen heard of these complaints he demanded that Selma Blair be let go where it was also reported that he listed Mila Kunis as a potential addition to the cast. Selma Blair’s unique manner of relaying comedic nuances will be missed once the new season starts; however, she is being replaced by another talented performer.
Tony nominated actress Laura Bell Bundy best known for her role as the energetic and feisty Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical as well as How I Met Your Mother will play Dr. Jordan Denby, a psychologist, who causes character turmoil and audience entertainment due to her recent divorce, penchant for alcohol, and erratic mood changes.
Laura Bell Bundy has recently expanded her career into the music world where she is currently touring with Rascal Flatts. She signed with one of Nashville’s record labels, Big Machine Records, and will release a country single sometime in August.
Anger Management has undergone a couple of cast changes this summer in preparation for the next season, which also includes adding Brian Austin Green’s character, Sean, who is the boyfriend of Charlie Goodson’s ex-wife as a more prominent role. Will the show remain as successful with these changes?
