Rush Limbaugh is an amusing fellow. Even though I disagree with everything that tumbles out of his constantly-flapping mouth, I’m always entertained by his opinions. The guy doesn’t seem to care what he says or who he says it to, as long as the rating spike as a result. This may explain why the controversial figure has focused his undying anger upon “The Dark Knight Rises”, a film that just so happens to be opening this week. Since everyone and their near-sighted grandmother are talking about the upcoming flick, it only makes sense that Limbaugh would attempt to capitalize on the motion picture’s popularity. Honestly, I think he gives Hollywood too much credit.

On Tuesday, Rush ranted endlessly about director Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming cinematic endeavor, claiming the film is nothing more than a cog in the liberal media conspiracy machine. How he makes these connections is beyond entertaining, especially considering he seems to have absolutely no understanding of the characters or their history. Of course, Limbaugh doesn’t care about such things; he’s more interested in getting his point across, regardless of how ignorant he sounds in the process.

“Have you heard this new movie, the Batman movie, what is it, ‘The Dark Knight Lights Up’ or whatever the name is. That’s right, ‘Dark Knight Rises’. Lights Up, same thing. Do you know the name of the villain in this movie? Bane. The villain in The ‘Dark Knight Rises’ is named Bane, B-a-n-e,” Limbaugh attempted to explain on his program. “What is the name of the venture capital firm that Romney ran and around which there’s now this make-believe controversy? Bain. The movie has been in the works for a long time. The release date’s been known, summer 2012 for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental that the name of the really vicious fire breathing four eyed whatever it is villain in this movie is named Bane?”

Fact: Bane first appeared in print back in 1993, and made his first big-creen appearance in director Joel Schumacher’s infamous misfire “Batman & Robin”. Listening to him struggle to make these connections is as enjoyable as it is scary. Of course, Rush didn’t stop there. As the rant rages on, he goes as far as to state that “The Dark Knight Rises” is nothing more than propaganda designed to appeal to “brain-dead people” and the “pop culture crowd”.

“So, anyway, this evil villain in the new Batman movie is named Bane. And there’s now a discussion out there as to whether or not this is purposeful and whether or not it will influence voters. It’s gonna have a lot of people. This movie, the audience is gonna be huge. A lot of people are gonna see the movie, and it’s a lot of brain-dead people, entertainment, the pop culture crowd, and they’re gonna hear Bane in the movie and they’re gonna associate Bain. The thought is that when they start paying attention to the campaign later in the year, and Obama and the Democrats keep talking about Bain, Romney and Bain, that these people will think back to the Batman movie, ‘Oh, yeah, I know who that is.’ There are some people who think it’ll work. Others think you’re really underestimating the American people to think that will work.”

If you’re interested in hearing the segment in-question, listen to the clip embedded below this article. And remember, folks: “The Dark Knight Rises to Influence Your Vote” opens this Friday (July 20) all across the United States. Feeling generous? Buy Limbaugh a ticket to the flick so he can see first-hand just how ridiculous these theories truly are.

    it’s Bush’s fault

  • Johnny Bopp

Oh, yeah…RIGHT! There’s no agenda in Hollywood! Anyone who watches t.v or movies knows that Hollywood never misses an opportunity to preach about the merits of left-wing ideology and to ridicule conservatives, Todd! Are you kidding me?

  • Don Ruff

This particular commentary was definitely one of his least researched and most knee-jerked reaction. But you don’t really believe the democrats & their Super Pacs won’t try to take advantage of this gift? Whether Rush had details wrong or not(he recanted yesterday), pundits like John Stewart or anyone on MSNBC wil have to make note. Remember what we have for an electorate. Not the most informed voters on the planet when it comes to the issues, although I bet many know who this Bane character is.

  • AB

Seriously. Did the writer not realize that it was the democrats whoi are trying to somehow connect the Bane character to Romney and Bain Capital? Limbaughs’s rant is pure sarcasm. Just as when he said during a speech to a conservative audience years ago that he told his own mother that dog food was good and nutritional for her when she called him after hearing a democrat in Congress actually say that Republicans would have seniors eating dog food. The idiot democrats actually stood up in congress the next day and blasted Limabugh for the comment as if he said it with all seriousness. It was a democratic adviser who actually attempted to link the Evil Bane Character to Romney and Bain capital. The writer of this story is clearly stupid enough not to see the parody in Rush’s comments.

The most amusing fact of this latest liberal shrill is that Rush didn’t even make this connection. He was simply referring to all of the liberal blogs, Democrat strategists and media (Washington Times, & The Examiner for example)who were making this connection prior to his comments. And why he even made the amusing referral to it in the first place was because his name was brought into it by Comic book writer Chuck Dixon. So Rush had fun with it and pointed out that many fools will fall for it in the story line. My gosh, I can’t even believe I have to write this and point out the simple facts.

Ok, go back to your cute misguided fantasies and strange Rush obsessions. Lol!

They could have named the villain Solndrush, or Furiousfast or maybe Leaks the Top Secrets……could even have the villain investigate and hunt down himself as is done by the current utterly stainless Protus.
Hey look at thing that wrote this article, looks like he might have bathed since the OWS debacle but otherwise what is there to impress? He expects US to be believing of HIS worthless propaganda because he researched the history of a comic character, laughable. It’s just obvious that the Bane thing and the release date are planned……….Hollywood does this every election cycle,it’s so common that we just shrug and go on with important things. I wish this dude Rigney would research true history without consulting the libs or the commies for their version.

  • JG

Movies are years in the making and I doubt the producers cared who was going to run for President when filming started. The basic fact is Bain has been in Batman Comics and Movies for at least 15 year. Rush should have done his homework.

  • MrBee

To those of you who have not read the comic book, this character was named bane way before Mitt Romney was even at bain. This character had his name even in the very first book, before we even new about some flip flopper named Mitt. Bain took a lot of USA’s jobs overseas and I see that as a very serious problem for Mitt because he is the ring leader.

  • d loc

that dope fiend will say anything to get attention lmao

Rush Limbaugh is past his time and gets paid too much money for what he does. Who still listens to him on the radio?

  • Lee Foster

Duhhhh, didn’t Rush have a stroke or something like that awhile ago ?, ’cause he comes across like something or other is affecting his thinking/speech. He’s possibly “fallen off the wagon”, too. No matter how you slice it, he’s a few slice’s short of a loaf :)

  • ldean50

Here’s the real conspiracy… when Romney started his company, he and the board of directors sat around a square table and he said, “We are evil. We need an evil name for our company. We going to take over companies and sell them off piece by piece, put people out of work and any work that is left over… we send it to CHINA! Rich, I tell you. We’re all gonna be rich!… now, what’s a good evil name? Satan? no. that’s too obvious. think people. think… and they did. Bain. And Romney said, “that is good. Let’s spell it differently, so if anyone makes the connection, we can deny it. ha haaaaaaaa!”

  • http://n/a/ Denny

When I saw Limbaughs name appear on the news highlits page, I was really hopping to see his obituary notice! I was however disappointed once again.

  • Andrew

Is anyone going to tell this retard that Bane has been a batman villain since the ’90s?

  • Dustin

My god. People actually listen to this guy? He graduated high school right? I think this is why the american people are fed up with politics. Purely because an uneducated talking head makes weird and strange political associations with popular culture. This guy couldnt lead us to lunch. How anyone could even remotely consider this man seriously, or even give his opinions any kind of logical credence, scares me. I think he mentioned that the Obama team dreams this stuff up for the brain-dead? How is he even on the air? Can we not even enjoy our movies without this douchebag ruining for us before the movie even opens? My god we need NEED Rush GONE.

  • Sabrina

Rush is talking out his ass. He must love the sound of his own voice even when it is just pain bullshit. All the movies are not made to bash people unless maybe you feel guilty because of thing you know Mitt has done. Get a grip asswhole.

  • http://imprumuturibani.info/author/imprumuturibani/ imprumuturi bani,credite nebancare

Thank you, I’ve just been looking for info about this subject for a long time and yours is the greatest I’ve found out so far. However, what about the bottom line? Are you positive concerning the supply?|What i don’t realize is in reality how you’re no longer actually much more well-liked than you might be now. You’re very intelligent.

  • ML

I hope this crazy man and his rant
dint spark the need of killing in the shooting in aurora Colorado

  • sharon

Perhaps if Rush ever thought about the stupid things he says, idiots wouldn’t get so mad. The shooting in Colorado? On his head, for sure. Continue spewing hate and nonsense – that’ll bring out all the crazies because rational, thinking people don’t listen to that drug-addled gas bag.

  • Magic

I think Bane was actually introduced sometime in the 30′s.

    • Billy

No, it was 1992 or 1993, no earlier than that. So, thinking logically, as El Rushbo implores us, I realized that was the same time Romney lost to Kennedy in his run for the Senate in Massachusettes. Clearly Ted Kennedy put this character into motion knowing that one day Romney would be running for president. Clearly.

  • Tony

I was wondering if the TEA PARTY was behind that young man in the shooting since sheriff Joe seems to like things like these

  • Billy

Wow, how incredibly and hilariously dumb. Why do people listen to this gasbag?

  • Billy

Liberals like to make fun of RUSH for this big NON-CONTROVERSY as they always do, but WHere’s the BIRTH CERTIFICATE? Nobody has an answer for that one, do you dumb librals! I am a principaled conservative and that’s why I vote for Romney – a pro gay rights, pro gun control, pro abortion, Harvard law and prep school elitist Mormon from the Northeast. who I find to be perfect for me, being a Southern white rural dirtfarmer from Alabama.

  • george coe

I like him he’s funny as hell most of the time and i never get excited at his ramling. My ? why these pic’s of him as have seen him before and he was a fat jolly comice :)
