On March 6th, 2012, the musical world was saddened to learn the death of Robert Bernard Sherman, a savant songwriter who was well known for his works with various Disney films and productions. Sherman died at the age of 86, and was announced to the world via his son Jeff’s Facebook statement provided below:
“My Dad, Robert B. Sherman, passed away tonight in London. He went peacefully after months of truly valiantly fending off death. He loved life and his dear heart finally slowed to a stop when he could fight no more.”

Robert B. Sherman worked closely with his brother Richard M. Sherman on most of his productions, and is most well known for songs included in Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The song that Robert has received the most recognition for is the catchy tune of It’s A Small World (After All).
