Who says Ivy League students don’t know how to party? Playboy Magazine recently unveiled its list of the top ten party schools in the country, and despite Princeton Review’s ranking, where Syracuse University took top honors, Playboy Mag put University of Pennsylvania at No. 1.
What makes the Ivy League school in Philly such a party palace? “Smarties can party too, and UPenn puts other Ivies to shame with its union of brains, brewskies and bros.” Playboy credits its underground frat scene that features thousands of dollars of liquor and “balls-out war of debauchery.” The magazine also points out an unbridled casual sex factor because the students there seem to value their prospective careers over getting involved in serious relationships.
Of course, there is also the obvious fact that the school is situated in the heart of Philadelphia, which is considered one of the best bar cities in the country.
"Work hard, play hard" rings ever more true as @Playboy names @Penn the top party school in the country http://t.co/JvPo4ApKQQ

Coming in second place on the list was the University of Wisconsin. The Madison school is known for its tailgate parties and nightlife. “At the axis of beer, cheese and snow sits Madison, where nightlife options are limited only by your ability to drink away the freeze. There’s a tailgating scene that puts Texas to shame, along with scores of bars near State Street, dozens of house and frat parties and a worthy roster of drunchies.”
Playboy Magazine has ranked UW-Madison the 2nd greatest party school in the country. Time to prove we're really number 1. #OnWisconsin

Rounding out the top three was West Virginia University, a school that is perennially on these types of lists. “Most schools celebrate football victories by drinking. Mountaineers do it by drinking and burning couches. WVU has a reputation for raging at the highest level. Morgantown has perfected a balance of Greek, bar and house-party scenes, and West Virginia’s irrational love of football is the catalyst for chaos.”
Here’s the rest of the top ten:
4. University of Arizona
5. University of Iowa
6. University of California Santa Cruz
7. University of Miami
8. Colorado State University
9. University of Texas
10. Syracuse University
ASU drops off the Playboy list of party schools? That's like Harvard becoming a JC. What the heck is going on over in Tempe.
