After the wife of Cincinnati Reds pitcher Mat Latos filed a police report when she was assaulted by fans at the National League wild-card game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, authorities say that no charges will be filed.

Pittsburgh police Sgt. John Fisher, who lead the 18-officer squad present at the stadium during the time of the incident, called the case “much ado about nothing,” regardless of the fact that Dallas Latos claims she had her hair pulled and was repeatedly punched. Fisher added, “what made it big was it involved a pitcher’s wife and it all went on Twitter,”

Fisher noted that stadium security called police to quell an argument, involving 20 to 30 Cincinnati and Pirates fans at the Budweiser Bowtie Bar inside the ballpark, during the Pirates’ 6-2 win Tuesday night. The officers at the scene didn’t witness Dallas Latos being attacked, but interviewed her after the melee when a stadium security worker told officers of her claims. Latos didn’t have visible injuries and refused medical treatment when she was interviewed by police, Fisher added.

Here’s what Latos tweeted Tuesday:

The tweeting continued, and Latos began to receive some backlash. Some said she was complaining, others said she’s a sore loser. One should just imagine the genteel, refined content included in some of these backlash-tweets.

As the smoke cleared a bit, Latos tweeted Wednesday – “The fact that our society condemns victims is disgusting. I have nothing to gain from telling my story besides a bunch of hate so save it.”

  • Interesting

So a drunk blonde woman who thinks she is better than everyone else wants to press charges in an incident she very well may have started because her husband’s team was losing. No injuries and no video of the incident?

Chalk this up to a drunk and self-centered woman complaining about nothing. My gut instinct is she probably instigated the whole confrontation. After all, she is ranting on twitter. I am sure she rants in real life too.

Our society doesn’t condemn victims — many of the “victims” are actually liars and you can see through all their BS. Especially, the drunk victims out there.

You’re pretty pathetic “Interesting”. Always the know-it-alls who like to make whole personality assessments on someone who merely claims to be the victim of an incident. YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT HAPPENED because you weren’t there, so keep your biases to your own pathetic mouth.

Anyways, she seems fine, so she doesn’t need to go chasing ambulances and lawyers, but she is right that our society does jump on and scrutinize victims. The scum trolls on twitter were barking before they even knew of any evidence available. You’re sheltered if you have not seen this pack-like phenomenon on a victim before or ignorant if you choose to ignore it.

Why don’t you read other articles on this and watch watch other reporters are reporting. The articles/reporters clearly says she was drunk. There was no evidence that anything she said even happened.

The very things you are complaining about — you are doing. Just stop it with the “victim” card. The reason why there are so many people “bashing her” is because people can see through nonsense like this. She was drunk and got into an altercation. She wasn’t a “victim.”

Sorry you consider yourself a victim. You can plainly see that in your comment. Just because you may have been a victim in life, it doesn’t mean that all people are victims. In fact, people like you actually make situations worse. You want there to be a victim regardless of the facts. You are so bitter and have so much hate — that you don’t even acknowledge a situation for what it is. Get help.

This woman is so self-obsessed that she thinks that everyone cares about what she does. If she was really hurt, she would have went straight to the emergency room. That is how these things work.

Did you even watch the video or go out to the net and read other articles? The woman was drunk as can be. Hate to tell you but drunk women cause lots of incidents in this country.

She isn’t a victim. Save that for your therapy classes or those therapists that “couch” victims. You know the ones — where a person doesn’t think they are actually a victim, but people like you convince them that they are.

      • The Reason Why Twitter Exploded

The reason why Twitter exploded against this woman is because people now bull**** when they hear it.

She was drunk and most certainly not a victim.

We have a “victim” mentality in this country. All women are victims and are never held responsible for their own actions. Get drunk — get into an altercation — guess what? You just might get into a fight. It is that simple. The drunk guy that gets in a car is held liable for his actions. Why not the drunk blonde woman?
