It may not get the accolades of some of the streaming service’s other shows, but Mako Mermaids, a “Netflix Original,” will be back.

Season 2 is getting ready to shoot, according to the show’s official Twitter account.

Additionally, cast member Amy Ruffle has been confirmed as returning.

So is Chai Romruen:

The Australian show (a spinoff of H20 – Just Add Water) made its debut on Netflix with the “Netflix Original” label in July with the first batch of episodes. More episodes would appear on Netflix in September.

Netflix recently announced s similar release schedule for its upcoming kids show Turbo FAST, which got the company some attention for deviating from its normal binge-inducing release strategy, but this was really a trend it set with Mako Mermaids earlier this year.

In fact, it doesn’t so much appear to be a trend as a matter of individual situation. Netflix told BusinessWeek that it took this approach with Turbo FAST simply because that’s the way the episodes are being delivered to them.

House of Cards: Season 2 will be returning on Valentine’s Day with its all-episodes-at-once release schedule.
