Lanvin Dancing Models Ad Campaign Goes Viral
High fashion design company Lanvin is making a viral splash with a video for their 2011 Fall fashion campaign.
The video, which has already amassed more than 150,000 views on YouTube in a matter of days, features dancing models. Part of the charm of the ad is its lighthearted nature, contrasting with the all-to-serious tone of many fashion campaigns.
The video features models Raquel Zimmerman and Karen Elson, the latter being the former wife of White Stripes frontman Jack White. Back in June, the two threw a party in Nashville to celebrate both their anniversary and divorce. “Please help us celebrate together this anniversary of the making and breaking of the sacred union of marriage,” the invitation said.
Also, watch for a cameo by Lanvin artistic director Alber Elbaz near the end.

Apparently, fashion watchers are praising the ad campaign for its self-parody nature and general emphasis on goofy fun. Some of the top YouTube comments –
I love how self-deprecating this ad is. And Alber appearing in it makes it even cooler. It’s nice to see a designer not take themselves too seriously.
HA HA HA – Alber appearing at the end: just HILARIOUS! ;)))))
wonder if Karl Lagerfeld would ever do anything like this… 😉
absolutely adorable! the intentional poker faces and moves parody a high fashion photoshoot, and the dance and designer appearing at the end makes it light hearted <3 taking away snobbiness and inaccessibility from ~high fashion~
The YouTube viral hit comes weeks after the print ads were debuted, featuring the same models in the same setting. Along with the lead image, here is another one of the stills –
