  • While Kristen Bell is anxiously awaiting the birth of her second child, she is focusing on helping other expectant mothers.

The Veronica Mars star recently donated $91,500 worth of baby supplies to families in need. The products included Bravado nursing bras and Medela breast pumps for new and expectant mothers.

Bell already has one child, one-year-old Lincoln, with her husband Dax Shepherd and she explained that she wanted those mothers to have the necessities needed to care for a newborn, and she also wanted to offer those mothers support when they need it the most.

“I understand the importance of having the essential tools necessary to provide for a newborn. Greater still, I am aware of the immeasurable value of having support systems in place to ensure success on this journey of motherhood,” Bell told ABC News. “Anything I can offer in support and care to new moms in need remains a huge priority to me.”

Baby Buggy, a non-profit organization “dedicated to providing families in need across the country with essential equipment, products, clothing, and educational services for children aged newborn up to 14 years old,” threw a baby shower in Bell’s honor on Tuesday, November 18 in Los Angeles.

While Bell was unable to attend, 40 special guests were sized for the donated products and got to enjoy the day by bonding with other expectant mothers.

“It’s overwhelming to have such amazing support,” Alicia Mora, a guest at the shower, said. “For me, it’s exciting to see everybody pregnant and all of the mothers sharing in this experience together. It’s pretty good! I’m really happy.”
