When news broke last week that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are having a baby, all hell broke loose on the web. The Kardashian clan is mighty popular (and controversial) lately, and anything Kim does is tabloid fodder. So when the couple went public with their news, it spread like wildfire.
The major complication with this pregnancy is that Kim is still legally married to Kris Humphries, her husband of 72 days. The ex-couple have been battling it out in court because Kris wants Kim to admit the entire marriage was a sham (meant to boost ratings for "Keeping Up With The Kardashians") and give back the $2 million ring he gave her. Kim has refused, and though she's said she wants to be done with it, they've been fighting ceaselessly since the relationship ended.
According to TMZ, however, the state of California legally recognizes a woman's husband as the father of an unborn child...meaning Kris could potentially claim the baby is his unless Kim and Kanye produce proof which says otherwise. Why he'd want to do that, no one knows, but it could be a huge wrench thrown into the works if he decides to go that route.
