  • Sunday night on “The Beatles: The Night That Changed America – A Grammy Salute,” celebrities and musicians alike gathered for an unforgettable evening. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr witnessed the lovely evening as well.

The tribute welcomed performances of classic Beatle’s hits from Dave Grohl, Annie Lennox and John Mayer.

However, the most unforgettable and mentioned performance of the evening went to Katy Perry for her version of, “Yesterday.”

Beatles fans weren’t too pleased with Perry’s rendition. The “Dark Horse” musician changed the word ‘man’ to ‘girl’ in the song causing quite an uproar.

YouTube users weren’t too pleased with one-word change.

One user said, “How dare she change the words!!!!!”

“omg get over yourself!.The only thing she changed was he to she or him to her. She’s not the first to do it to this song, ya jackass And in case ya didn’t notice, the Paul and Ringo both liked it,” another user replied.

This wasn’t the first time Perry had performed a Beatles song.

Do you think Perry shouldn’t have taken the liberty to change the lyrics? Were you fine with the song? Either way, leave your comments below.
