Jodi Arias Gets Penalty Phase Of Trial Delayed

Jodi Arias’s plan to represent herself seems to be going swimmingly thus far. She was successful in getting the penalty phase of her trial delayed by three weeks.

Arias argued that the delay was necessary because of difficulties in securing a key witness for her defense. Following a closed door hearing on Wednesday, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens granted her request.

Instead of the penalty phase of the trial beginning on September 8th, the trial is set to begin on September 29th.

Arias stood accused of having murdered her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander several years ago. Though she claimed self-defense during a testimony that spanned 18 days, the jury simply didn’t believe Arias’s version of events.

Arias was convicted of Alexander’s murder in May 2013. That jury found her eligible for the death penalty.

The jury itself could not come to an agreement as to whether or not Arias should be put to death even though her conviction made her eligible.

The prosecution opted to have a new jury to whom to present a case for capital punishment.

Arias decided to take matters into her own hands at this stage. She will be representing herself, although it’s still uncertain whether or not this move will help save her from the death penalty or backfire.

Thus far it seems she is handling herself well; winning this delay could mean she’s taking all the necessary steps to avoid a fatal outcome.

There remains a possibility Arias’s bizarre behaviors, which include getting a restraining order against Nancy Grace, could catch up with her at some point.

If it happens that for whatever reason this new jury becomes deadlocked over the issue of putting Arias to death, that won’t be the end of the matter.

The decision will then rest in the hands of a judge. He or she will then determine whether Arias spends the rest of her life in jail or if she will be executed by the state.

  • seriously?

Jodi Arias: An Argument for Reasonable Doubt

  • 4DJai

This case is another example of how the wheels of justice turns slowly…..In
my opinion, we should all pray that there will not be another deadlock decision
in the penalty phase of this case…Stabbing a person 29 times; cutting a throat
from ear to ear; and shooting someone in the forehead is OVERKILL and certainly
deserves to be put to death in this death penalty state….Furthermore, I resent Jodie
Arias acting like a battered woman…There are far too many women who have been
actually battered and that is nothing to lie about…Arizona is still a state
with the death penalty and I hope the jurors, this time around, will remember
that when they finally reach their verdict in the third part of this case….
Jodi murdered Travis and did not think about the consequences of her actions
and now it is time for her to face the music.…If Arizona is not going to use
the death penalty in its state, the state needs to remove it from its
books…But, if the jurors still find it hard to sentence her to death and she
gets life in prison (no parole possibilities), I hope that she will not be
allowed to communicate with anyone from the outside word…..That means no
interviews, no Twitter (even if it is done by someone else on her behalf),
etc….Let us all pray for healing within the Travis Alexander family and
    soon….God Bless!!

    • gdaddy1971

“Acting like a battered woman”? Was you ever present with the two of them? You do not know whether she was abused or not. The tapes played of Travis Alexander in court certainly presented a person who could be capable of abuse. You should not make these statements with such certainty when you know nothing about what truly happened between them. Did he deserve everything she did to him? Of course not. Was she a battered woman? Quit possibly.

      • koolaid

Whether she was battered or not it’s First Degree Murder all day.

Fly her to Iraq-istan and leave her there

        • gdaddy1971

I don’t agree. The prosecutors never proved premeditation in this case. She should have been found guilty of second-degree murder and received life without parole.

          • VicDog

The prosecutors did prove premeditation as she was found guilty of 1st degree murder.

          • gdaddy1971

I’m saying that she should NOT have been found guilty of 1st degree murder. The prosecutors did NOT prove premeditation whatsoever. Yes, she did kill Travis Alexander, but it was not proven that she planned it. Second degree murder should have been the outcome.

          • Ted Cole

Why did she lie about the gas cans? PREMEDITATION!

          • VicDog

But you’re wrong, so your opinion doesn’t matter at all.

          • http://disqus.com/ brown eyes

Gdaddy, again tthey proved first-degree murder. And again what planet do you live on? You sound like an idiot.

          • http://disqus.com/ brown eyes

Hey Gdaddy, what is your IQ?

          • gdaddy1971

Obviously a lot higher than yours.

          • gdaddy1971

I sound like an idiot? Yet you’re the one asking someone what planet thy live on? Nice. Obviously, you are the idiot here if you truly believe that first-degree murder was proven. Now, run along little one. You don’t want to be late for the short bus.

          • disqus_ewermPMJBA

you shouldn’t be commenting because you know nothing about what you are saying.

          • gdaddy1971

Why is it that I know nothing about what I am talking about? Because you don’t agree with what I am saying? So I shouldn’t be commenting because you don’t like what I am saying? So that makes you right and me automatically wrong. Not even close. Maybe you should stop making comments about how other people view events. You should also view facts about events instead of just going on pure emotion and following what everybody else says you should.

          • VicDog

Your opinion is wrong. She DID premeditate this action. She was proven guilty by a jury of her peers. It is no longer speculation. It is fact and you are on the wrong side of this FACT.

          • gdaddy1971

Oh, so my opinion is wrong because it doesn’t match up with your biased pre-made opinion. Get back on your couch and watch some more Nancy Grace, you flipping idiot. Just because a jury found her guilty of first degree murder doesn’t mean that she should have been found guilty of it. Why don’t you stop following people around like a sheep and just stick to having sex with the sheep like your ancestors, you dolt. At no time was it proven during that case that she the murder was premeditated. That is the FACT of the matter whether you want to agree with it or not.

          • VicDog

No, It’s just a proven fact. So my opinion and your opinion doesn’t matter at all. Your screen name is gdaddy1971. My opinion of your name doesn’t change the FACT that gdaddy1971 is your name.

          • gdaddy1971

I’m not really sure what you are referring to, because there were no PROVEN facts that came out of this case.

          • VicDog

She was found guilty which is a fact. No matter what your opinion is it doesn’t change the FACT that she is guilty of 1st degree murder. The fact is that she is a cold blooded murderer. Obviously you don’t have a problem with somebody committing premeditated murder as long as she’s hot. You’re just in love with her like Laviolette and the other shrink that bought her presents while evaluating her. Your preconceived notion is that hot chicks can’t be guilty. It’s really sexist of you to determine her innocence just because of your sick fantasies about her.

          • gdaddy1971

It is by no means a FACT that she is guilty of first degree murder. Just because a jury made that assumption doesn’t PROVE anything. I would have a problem with somebody committing premeditated murder if it was completely proven that it happened, which wasn’t the case here. And for your information, I do not think that Jodi Arias is at all hot. Your preconceived notion is that anyone who disagrees with the ridiculous verdict in this case has to have some fantasy about her. It is really sexist of you to believe that someone can have an opinion without having some twisted fantasy involved with it. I guess that says something about you and how you act but not me. Go back to your sheep, fool.

          • VicDog

It WAS completely proven beyond a shadow of reasonable doubt. It wasn’t an assumption by the jury. It was a legal binding decision. What do you hope to accomplish by saying the same thing over and over. You aren’t going to change anybody’s mind, You’re not going to influence the jury. It’s good entertainment for me so please continue.

          • gdaddy1971

Never said that the verdict wasn’t legal and binding. Just said that it was wrong. Never said that I could ever influence the jury. Just stating the facts. You can say all you want that is was proven beyond a shadow of a reasonable doubt, but that would be absolutely wrong and show how biased you are toward the situation. You should get yourself booked on Nancy Grace. She would love you. I’m sure you two would become fast friends. You both have the same idiotic personality traits.

          • VicDog

You and the murderer would be good friends, You have the same vapid personalities. And you’re both dumb as a box of rocks. When she is sentenced to die like she deserves you will cry like the little Bi(t)(c)h
you are. I know you have this fantasy of saving her from this unjust conviction and riding off into the sunset with her. But when you wake up you will still be in your Mom’s basement beating your meat to Nancy Grace. Maybe mom can bring you some of those pizza rolls you like.

          • gdaddy1971

Oh, so now I’m the one fascinated by Nancy Grace, Your the one who seems to worship her and everything she says. I think she is a worthless piece of excrement, which is why you two would be perfect for each other. And once again you fail in your little attempt to assume some fantasy I have for Jodi Arias. As I said before, I don’t find her the least bit attractive have no delusions of grandeur in changing any outcome of any court proceedings. Your “dumb as a box of rocks” statement was very cute, but very wrong as usual. At least I am using my brain when looking at the facts of this case and not being spoon fed the biased misinformed predetermined assumptions that you are looking at as the truth.

          • VicDog

You brought her up first. I had no choice but to watch that cow because I watched all of the trial. If there was anyone else broadcasting the trial I would have watched that instead. Why you did that I have no clue because NG has nothing to do with this. You’re just too stupid to understand that. BUH-BYE loser.

          • gdaddy1971

It’s funny how you continue to question my intelligence when you show your stupidity every time you make a comment. I bring up Nancy Grace because you are obviously obsessed with the woman and agree with her viewpoints on this situation. Don’t try to deny that you watched the coverage every day just waiting for your heroine to appear and spread her stupidity to you and her other loyal loser followers. You are pathetic.

hey G daddy that is exactly what you sound like a special needs adult.I will have no further interaction with you because you sound like you’re just stupid.

Special needs people often need to repeat themselves in order to create a more realistic feeling to their conversation. I see you have started doing this. You better get back on your meds so you won’t oversleep and miss the short bus.

          • http://disqus.com/ brown eyes

hey G daddy, the proven fact is she admitted that she murdered him. She travelled through the desert after buying cannisters for gas so no one could track her when she went to go murder him. That sounds like premeditation to me dumbass. Is Gdaddy reallyJODI? Gdaddy ard you Jodi’s avatar? Scared of you.

          • http://disqus.com/ brown eyes

G daddy, you sound like you slept with her or wanted to sleep with her. I agree with the other people you should not be commenting you have no idea of what you’re talking about. Maybe you’re thinking with your penis. After all, he is a freak.

          • gdaddy1971

It is rather humorous that you people want to automatically equate speaking the truth on this issue with having some fantasy with Jodi Arias. I could care less who the defendant is or how she looks. I am only looking at the facts of the case and the facts say that premeditated murder was never proven.

          • Max4Tenis

Oh Dear….Didn’t prove premeditation??? Aside from the astute comment from another poster that the fury found her GUILTY of FIRST degree murder, how can look at all the countless number of actions she took to hide her trip, the circuitous route she took to get to Arizona and then to get back to California, and her ability to act like NOTHING happened while on her visit to Ryan Burns. Even if you buy that she didn’t have any memory immediately AFTER the murder (which I don’t) you cannot dismiss all the things she did to prepare for her trip and while she was on her trip.

Goodness I could talk for hours but I refuse to give Jodi that much of my personal time.

        • tucker

Yes they proved premeditation. What planet do you live on. Dah duntz.

      • disqus_ewermPMJBA

Good Lord, after all that has been shown and presented in court you still believed this woman’s lies about being abused? You are mentally challenged.

        • gdaddy1971

That’s cute. I’m mentally challenged. At least I am using my brain and looking at the facts instead of just following along with all the rest of the crowd who had convicted her before she was even tried. After all that was shown and presented? All that was proved was that she killed Travis Alexander. Nothing was proved that she wasn’t abused or that the murder was premeditated. Juries are supposed to go by facts presented in the case, not by their own ideas and beliefs, and certainly not by news stories and Nancy Grace reports. Grow up and learn what you are talking about before you begin chastising people for stating something you don’t want to agree with.

          • VicDog

The jury was not allowed to watch Nancy Grace or look at any news outlets. The jury went on the facts presented during the trial. I did watch all of the testimony and had to endure that vampire Nancy Grace but that was out of my control.

          • gdaddy1971

The jury was not sequestered at any time during the trial. I guarantee you that many if not all of them watched news reports regarding the case. It’s obvious, because there is no way they could have came up with that verdict from only the evidence provided in the courtroom. They reached their verdict from their own pre-conceived ideas and from the biased reporting from Nancy Grace and others.

      • Kaptah2

        gdaddy,

Obviously you meant ” Quite” and not “Quit”

Sure, there exist many battered women, but a very small percent shoot and carve up their tormentor. What gives Arias the right to lie through her teeth, come up with three different stories, and then claim the “poor little me” story. She didn’t have to offer up her anus to Travis Alexander you know. She wasn’t under duress, she had the freedom of choice.

        I don’t buy it.

        • gdaddy1971

I am not at all saying that Travis Alexander deserved what happened to him. He did not. What I am saying is that nothing was ever proven saying that she was not abused in their relationship. Nothing was ever proven showing that the murder was premeditated. Should she have been found guilty and punished for the murder of Travis Alexander. Yes, I believe she should have. But I do not believe that the facts presented warranted a first degree murder conviction. She should have received a second degree murder conviction and received life without parole.

          • Jane Arney-Beatty

But she didn’t receive a second degree murder conviction….she received a first degree conviction. Why is that being argued. She cannot change it. She can only delay the inevitable which is death or life in prison.

          • gdaddy1971

You should keep yourself from making comments as you just make yourself look like an imbecile. I know she didn’t receive a second degree murder conviction. That is what I have been saying. The fact is NOT being argued. And I never said that she has the ability to change the verdict. Are you dense or just plain stupid?

          • http://disqus.com/ brown eyes

Gdaddy, i would condone your wife for kicking your butt.

      • http://disqus.com/ brown eyes

i wonder how in the world she can hire a p.i. does she have money or what is she ucking these people or what. and why is this going on this long anyway . does she and judge have something going on. something not right . excute her already .

    • doris17

She has an online art gallery. She really is a good artist. She does/did sell on eBay.

      • disqus_ewermPMJBA

she is not an artist, she copies everything. the tax payers are paying for it.

        • gdaddy1971

How are the taxpayers paying for it when it is private people going on eBay and paying their own personal money of their own free will. You keep showing your ignorance everytime you make a comment. Just because you have a preconceived notion of who she is and what she did (just like the jury and everyone else) doesn’t make your idiotic statements any more true or credible. As for her being an artist, have you been present when she has done any of her pieces of artwork. No, I didn’t think so. You should stop talking about things you don’t know about.

    • VicDog

She will manipulate some schmuck to do it for free.

    • http://disqus.com/ brown eyes

she an G daddy has something going on. He’s giving her money for every post that he makes every comment that he makes that idiot.

      • gdaddy1971

Way to make stuff up, halfwit. I have no affiliation with Jodi Arias, don’t know her, and have never met her. I also have no romantic feelings for the woman. I wouldn’t care who the defendant was in this cade. If the evidence was presented for them the same as in this case, I would be saying the same thing about them-no premeditation was proven in the case!!

  • Nana Berry

I wish to heaven they had just given her life with no chance of parole. I do not want her getting all this attention.

  • gail silmser

What a waste of taxpayers money on that piece of feces. She should have received the death penalty. Ignorant jurors.

    • gdaddy1971

You are the ignorant one here. She should not have received the death penalty. As a matter of fact, she should never have been found guilty of first-degree murder. The prosecutors in no way proved premeditation. She should have at most been found guilty of second-degree murder and received life without parole.

      • mot

gdaddy, maybe you could have Jodie give you a shower like she did
Travis, but in your case we will see if she can’t get off with a misdemeanor ok?? where you born with that brick you call a brain or did you aquire it from years of stupidity?

        • gdaddy1971

Cute, very cute. Nice to see how people view themselves as superior to others because they refuse to listen to another viewpoint different from their own. Maybe you should refrain from commenting on a person’s stupidity and lack of brain function until you actually use your own to look at the facts of the matter instead of following everybody else like a mindless sheep. Did Jodi Arias kill Travis Alexander? Yes, I’m not disputing that. Did Travis Alexander deserve what happened to him? No, he did not and I would never say that he did. Was the murder of Travis Alexander premeditated? That was NEVER proven in court, which means that a first degree murder conviction should never have occurred. You can follow along with the popular opinion all you want. You can never say whether Jodi Arias was abused by Travis Alexander during their relationship and you can never say that something didn’t happen that day that caused her to commit the crime. You or I or anyone else were there to witness what happened and it was never proven in court.

          • mot

goofydaddy, yea the fact that she gave 5 to 6 different story’s as to what happen have nothing to do with her credability,by the way, I have some ocean beach property in Arizona and I think you might just be the person im looking for to buy it, interested??

      • disqus_ewermPMJBA

ill tell you what. i think you must be her lover and not really using your head.

        • gdaddy1971

Actually, I seem to be the only one using my head in this matter and not following along with the popular opinion like a sheep.

you’re a shill. Nothing more. Nobodies buying your load of horse manure, move along now

shill-a person who publicizes or praises something or someone for reasons of self-interest, personal profit, or friendship or loyalty.
First, I am neither publicizing or praising Jodi Arias-STRIKE ONE
Secondly, my comments are in no way profiting me in any way-STRIKE TWO
Lastly, I don’t know the woman, so I have no friendship or personal loyalty to her.
STRIKE THREE!!! You are out…and an idiot!!!

      • Jane Arney-Beatty

Watched the whole trial and there was definitely premeditation…from her stealing the gun, to buying the gas cans, and the photo shoot before and after. The defense’s argument about Global Amnesia was ridiculous. I’ve witnessed that first hand and can tell you they cannot remember what occurred upon waking up until the moment of the amnesia. They just don’t forget one moment in time. That’s why it’s called global. They forget everything that day and she remembered everything leading up to the murder. Besides, the doctor who testified about it was a hack. Unprepared and had to use a book. Any competent doctor would not go in looking like an idiot.

        • gdaddy1971

You might have watched the whole trial, but you obviously didn’t listen to the whole trial. You were like all the other sheep and went in with your biased preconceived notions and already had her convicted before the trial even started. If you would have actually paid attention to the trial, you could see that premeditation was never proven. You need to go back to watching your soap operas and quit commenting on issues you know nothing about. You don’t do well at trying to act like an intelligent person.

          • Jane Arney-Beatty

Saw it all and heard it all. Wherever did you get hung up on the premeditation? She stole a gun and used it to shoot the guy. Should I say it slower so you understand? I won’t bother, you aren’t worth the effort. Let’s let the Grand jury decide this instead of playing sideline jury.

          • gdaddy1971

Yes, why don’t you do that, because it is obvious that you don’t know a damn thing that you are talking about.

  • Sara

That is the face of evil right there.

  • Sara

That judge should be fired and disbarred for the way she’s let this drag on so long.

  • kay jayne

this crazy witch needs to die.

  • eva

Arias is a total waste of skin, air and space.

  • Ben Cruz

Jodi’s first story was that she knew absolutely nothing about Travis being murdered and said she wasn’t there. Jodi’s second story was that there were intruders who killed Travis and she somehow got away, without ever calling police. Jodi’s third and final story is that she murdered Travis in self defense because Travis was emotionally and physically “abusive.” All the home videos with Jodi and Travis, even weeks before the murder, shows Jodi completely happy and not one of Jodi’s friends said Jodi ever mentioned a hint of abuse. I only have one question. How in the name of everything good did the jury not sentence this lying, brutal murderer to death the first time???? How? Just how? I mean, what??

    • gdaddy1971

It’s called REASONABLE DOUBT dumb@ass!! Learn what you are talking about before you make an @ss out of yourself. It was never proven that she wasn’t abused and it was never proven that it was premeditated murder. Argue with the facts all you want, but it’s the truth.

      • Ben Cruz

What does her being abused or not being abused have to do with making up three completely different stories?? Even if it wasn’t premeditated, why make up three completely different stories?? Does that make sense to you? And you think I am a dumb@ass?? Bwahahahaha.

        • gdaddy1971

Never said she was smart in the way se handled things or that she handled it correctly. All I have said is that there is no proof that she was not abused by Travis Alexander and it was never proven that the murder was premeditated. So yes, you are a dumb@ss.

  • Prudence

It seems many people are unaware of the fact that we live in a physical world and as such, the laws of physics apply. In other words, Newton’s laws of motion are in effect when we act as nothing truly happens “out of the blue.”. His third law of motion states “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” The logical conclusion — something violent (emotional, psychological, or physical) happened to make Jodi Arias respond with such violence herself.

    • Kaptah2

Yeah, O.K. Prudence, next time you get into an argument with a neighbor or family memeber, or get cut off by some A Hole on the highway, just have your gun and knife handy to honor Newton’s Third Law. What a bunch of Sh*t !

    • Jane Arney-Beatty

Yep. She didn’t get what she wanted and killed the guy so nobody else would have him. Psychopath!

      • gdaddy1971

So now you have the ability to know how she was thinking at the time and what their relationship was like when they were alone. D@mn, you are so gifted and talented. Lame @ss simpleton.

    • VicDog

The problem with your theory about blaming the victim is that the worst
thing he did to her was break up with her and that was enough to push
her over the edge. So she is just violent all on her own. If a man did this to
her you wouldn’t be blaming the victim.

      • gdaddy1971

You are the biggest bullsh*t artist around. You or nobody else can say for certain that the worst thing he ever did to her was break up with her. You and nobody else was present with them 24 hours a day and knows what happened between them when they were alone. You and nobody else can say that she wasn’t abused by him. And saying that there is no way that she was just makes you look like a fool. You make him sound like a complete saint in the whole matter when the tapes played in court showed that he is anything but that. Just because your preconceived notions aren’t supported by this fact doesn’t make it any less true.

        • VicDog

I wasn’t commenting to you you stupid moron. All I’ve ever said is that she was PROVEN guilty. I never made any judgements on her or on her murder victim. I never said she wasn’t abused. You are just so stupid that you read things into what is said. You resort to personal attacks because you know you are wrong and you need to justify your ridiculous opinion. You’re such a brainwashed idiot that you responded to a 4 day old post that was directed at somebody else. You’re a Doosh for supporting a CONVICTED 1st degree murderer. You’re so stupid that you think your opinion matters, It doesn’t because you are a worthless human being. completely worthless.

          • gdaddy1971

“The worst thing he did to her was break up with her.” That statement implies that she was never abused in the relationship as she has said she was. Sorry if I hurt your little feelings, but I am in no way wrong in my statements and my opinion is not at all ridiculous. And to call me brainwashed in one of the most laughable things you have said so far, as it is you who is following all the Nancy Grace lovers like sheep and convicted a person before she was even tried. My opinion matters just as much as your biased one does. I’m a worthless human being? Oh, that hurts so much coming from such an upstanding person such as yourself. How can I ever go on after such an insult? OK, I’m over it. Dumb@ss.

          • VicDog

            Lol, Why respond then?

          • Kaptah2

And here I am responding to a 13 day old posting. I guess I am the dumb@ss, but couldn’t let your reply go without a big thumbs up. Don’t you understand why the lonely, insecure person that goes by the screen name gdaddy1971, is just that? This sad individual will go contrary to what ever anyone posts in order to attract attention to themselves. It’s really, really sad, but Arias was one of these types of personalities, wanted all of the attention despite the cost. There will be many like gdaddy1971, just go to the bathroom, sit and expel about half a dozen of them.

VicDog something is wrong with gdaddy. He probably likes stuff stuck up his butt too and has fantasies about being with jodi, the knife wheeling psychopath.

        • http://disqus.com/ brown eyes

gdaddy, I still think you have a sexual wish to be with Jodi. You are always supporting her. Something is wrong with you. She could have walked away from him. They were only together 3 months. She should have kept her butthole closed. Nothing suppose to go up your butt anyway except a doctor. Just Nasty! That chick is scary; God bless her roommates. I would be afraid, very afraid.

The justice system is a big joke–She has been found guilty. What’s the problem. If she doesn’t like the death penalty then give her 900 years in prison.

  • Ammoguy

Give me a break, just go on and put this girl in the chair and get ot over with!!

  • Christine

I would imagine that it would take more than 2 weeks to find a witness FOR Jodie Arias!

  • Raquel Negron

This is a classic sociopath in action, she is the puppet master. She herself said no jury will convict her , what that means is that she is going to play everyone her way.
She is no “battered woman” . She was the one stalking him not the other way around.
There are no physical, emotional or psychological signs on her of this called “abuse”. When she talks about it she looks down. When she “cries” in court there are no tears, no redness or puffiness in her face, she actually covers her face because she is pretending so people will feel sorry for her. If he was so abusive how come she did not tell anyone. most abuse women confide in someone. Also most abusers abuse others as well . How come no one else talked about it , any of his ex- girlfriends.
This is a classic narcissistic type personality in action if I can’t have it no one else will.
I am going to show you. First she take the pictures , the last one like a deer looking at the headlights. Before the attack took place. Then the attack like I’ll show you, wham!
Take this and this . This is not a self defense act, because she had a knife and a gun on hand . In self defense you grab whatever you have on hand and he was in the shower when she attack him. Plus if you where defending yourself and were innocent you call the police, you don’t hide the evidence, only guilty people do that. This was premeditated Now she is trying lie herself out of it. She has a fan club of supporters and when things don’t go her way she sues or insults or makes some outrageous story to defame other peoples integrity. Not only look at her speech read her body language it speaks volumes.

    • Donna Hurley

Way to go Raquel. Where’s daddy 1971 now? I followed the trial too.

  • Raquel Negron

By the way she is trying to play the victim so everyone feels sorry for her.

  • Donna Hurley

She is certainly playing the system. So sad for Travis’ family to have to go thru this. She just can’t get over the fact that her 15 minutes of fame is up.

  • edan

This judge has bent over backwards and into a pretzel to accommodate Jodi. I think she’s really soft, but then maybe she’s just trying ensure the verdicts won’t be overturned on appeal. Our appeal judges, in the US let off murderers and child molesters, but lock up Pot smokers for life. It’s a totally f’ed up Justice System.

  • Allen Cone

This is wrong: The decision will then rest in the hands of a judge. He or she will then
determine whether Arias spends the rest of her life in jail or if she
will be executed by the state.

The judge will decide between life or parole. Execution is off the table.

    • Jane Arney-Beatty

She’ll never get parole. She admitted to killing him and she was convicted. It will be either death or life in prison. I just hope the family finds peace either way.

  • Jane Arney-Beatty

She’s just delaying the inevitable. She deserves death, however, as long as she is behind bars and away from the public I’m good with it. She’s nuts. I just hope whatever happens…the family can find some peace.

I am NOT a Jodi Arias fan. It is unconscionable that she could take and stab someone 28 times, slit his throat and then shoot him in the head and have absolutely no remorse. However, I dont understand why you are saying that she’s playing the system. She is not playing the system. She is fighting for her life and whatever she needs to do to save her life is what she is doing. You cannot fault her for trying to live regardless to how guilty she is. Travis did not deserve to die the way that he did. He didn’t deserve to die at all. However, Travis knew what he had in Jodi and he played her. You cannot use people and dispose of them like they are garbage and expect no retaliation. That is what he did to a crazy person and she gave him what she felt was his just due. She is not sorry for anything that she did to him. The only thing this girl is sorry for is 1. getting caught, 2 being in jail; and 3. that she might get the death penalty. If you were in jail you would be doing the same thing, fighting for your life. So, unfortunately he died; but he was no angel. It would have been better if she beat his ass to a pulp and left him living. What she did was wrong. What he did to her was wrong. He obviously didn’t know she was as much of a nut as she is. Maybe, just maybe, men out there and women will learn from this that you just can’t do what you want to do and think that it’s okay for you to crap on people and just walk away. And, no, I don’t like Jodi Arias, and no I’m not crazy about what Travis did. A penis nor a vagina should rule you. He knew that this girl had issues and, there is so much more to life than a orgasm.

I believe in the judicial system and it should be allowed to run it’s course. God Bless America and all of the veterans who fought and fight for our freedom. Thank you God for our Constitution and all of our laws.
