Jesus Look-Alike Kicked Out Of Darts Tournament

Looking like a celebrity can be a blessing or a curse, depending on whether you want to cash in on it. If the famous person has enemies, anyone who resembles them is subject to bear the brunt of ill-will from total strangers.

But what happens when you resemble someone everyone knows and millions revere? If it’s Jesus we’re talking about, a resemblance might not help you. Australia native Nathan Grindal found that out the hard way when he attended a darts tournament which was being televised and ended up getting escorted out because he was a “distraction”.

The Cash Converters Players’ Championship, which was held in England, was being televised when the audience realized they had a look-alike in their midst. When chants of “Stand up if you love Jesus!” began, the coordinators of the event kicked Grindal out to avoid an angry reaction from the players, and Grindal says he was treated unfairly.

“It was distressing. I was emotionally distraught. The crowd were bullying me and picking on me. It would have been OK if security hadn’t made a fuss getting me out,” he said.

Apparently the ruckus didn’t happen fast enough to appease at least one of the players; Phil Taylor allegedly said after the match, “If I ever see Jesus again, I’ll crucify him myself.”

Jesus is just alright with me…..he can play on my team anytime…what were they afraid of?…divine bullseyes?…

  • http://yahoo Cindy

WHAAAA????? WHo knows what Jesus looked like? There are only suppositional ideas gleaned from cultural theories.
One thing for sure…he was NOT British…

  • mari

What a ridiculous situation! No one knows for sure what Jesus looked like…unless the shroud of Turin is actally Jesus’s face. Jesus was definitely a Jew and most likely had dark hair and skin. The blonde versions of Jesus were a European invention. This poor guy who got kicked out looks just like any hippie of the 60’s and any California modern-year artist!! Those Brits have a long way to go in tolerance education!!!

  • stephenf

Um…Jesus was a first-century Jew from Palestine. Not only were they typically not red-bearded and blond-haired, they also typically didn’t wear long hair and long beards.

  • Advocate1

The saddest part about this is that the gentleman was only there to watch the tournament. Everythig that the Bible talks about is coming to fruition. All of the people who were there that chanted and ridculed that gentleman when have to repent of pay dearly when they stand before Chrsit at his throne. The Lord does not like to be made fun of nor mocked.

  • kji

We don’t know how Jesus really looked like. any skinny man with long hair and beard might look like Jesus

  • http://yahoo bishopbey

FIRST who said this man looks like Jesus,(my bible says that when “they” say here is God or there is God, believe them not. Second, according to MY bible(king James) this man does not fit the description of JESUS the Christ, and even if he did I’m 100% positive J.C. would not be found a a DART Tourney. The people who got soooo upset at this MANS appeareance obviously either has not read the bible or have never “listened” while at church(if they ever attended)The Bible says NO MAN has EVER SEEN GOD. So you people need to relax. JESUS WILL BE HERE SOON ENOUGH, then ya’ll can asked him for yourself.(wait for it)”Bite Me”

    • Marie

Thank you people are dizzy clearly and other parts of the worLD ALSO SAD DAY IN HUMANITY.

  • Ronnie

This man was really treated unjustly!! He doesn’t even resemble the Jesus that’s described in my Bible. (Wooly hair, dark skinned, etc.) Who concocted this picture of Jesus? Please advise and thanks.

  • Sally

This is silly……….no one knows what Jesus Christ looks like and maybe he doesn’t even have blonde hair and light colored eyes…..He looks like an average guy to me. Just people afraid of anything related (remotely) to Christianity. Absurd!

    • Vic

Correct. As a matter of fact, seeing that Jesus was a Palastinian, he most likely resembled a Mohammad or a Ahmed
than he did Jeffrey Hunter or Ted Neeley. Sorry, blue-eyed & white Jesus of most U.S. beleif, but you’re a self-delusion.

      • Therealguyfaux

At least Jim Caviezel has the decency to have black hair. They made him wear brown contact lenses, too. With a bit more of a spray-on tan he probably looks more like a Jesus would have looked, bearing in mind that the people of Palestine of the First Century would have been a pretty mixed bag of darker and lighter skin, of straighter and curlier hair, owing to being a crossroads for many trading populations of European and Levantine civilizations.

  • Deborahkt

Wow. Well, no one really knows what Jesus looked like, other than He wasn’t anything special to look at according to the book of Isaiah.
How sad it is, though, that people will act so silly. So what is the big deal if this guy did look man’s idea of Jesus? Why would that be such a problem for so many? I guess it is the same mindset so many had 2,000 years or so ago… and the reason so many are searching for life today…
It’s right at your fingertips, folks, grasp hold!

  • jeff

Dear Amanda Crum: This is the single stupidest article I’ve ever read. A guy has a beard and hair, so he looks like Jesus? Then I must have seen Jesus 16 times on my way to work today. And Mary Magdalene twice. Rubbish.

    • workinman2

      LOL !!! LOL !!!! Me too !!!!!

  • http://yahoo johnnie

Since Jesus was Jewish, there is absolutly no resemblance! Therefor he was kicked out for all the wrong reasons, but even if he had looked like Jesus’ twin brother he still had every right to be there!

  • Sarah

That man does NOT look like Jesus! People are hysterical!

  • Haylee

    Jesus aint no ginger!

This man looks nothing like Jesus, blonde hair, red bearded and blue eyes stop, give me a break. Most white people would like for us to think this is what Jesus looks like. but read the bible it tell you what he looks like skin, hair to a T, A dark skin man. Im really offened by this.

  • jackie

Who is this Phil Taylor guy BTW? Mr. Phil, like you said ” If I ever see Jesus again bla bla bla” you know what, maybe you will soon…Repent before seeing Him. It will be good for your health-spiritual I mean.

  • Jay C Too

According to The DaVinci Code, I’m one of a line of descendants of Jesus Christ and I don’t look like him. Or at least, I don’t look like the historical representations of what Christ supposedly looked like.So maybe I DO look like him after all.

  • JonInVa

Hey, now you know what the same type of crowd sounded like when they all shouted at Pilate to crucify the original Jesus. Not much has changed in human nature over 2000 years, or so it seems.

  • jill johnson

More like someone from Duck Dynasty… :/

  • workinman2

And think….WHAT IF HE WAS !!!!!! People are kicking him out of everything else……shame, shame, shame !!!!!

    • David Farber

good point. with the alleged apocalypse coming, if the Son of God wants to throw some darts, then have at it, dude! Don’t want to make him angry or anything.

  • David Farber

Looks to me like a cool dude with a killer beard. Could all the morons in this world of ours GET A LIFE and spend your time addressing important issues?? You can start with why in the world this man is a “distraction.”

  • Rich

He looks more like Greg Allman not Willem Dafoe?

  • http://www.saintfrancisturlock.com Father G

I thought that Jesus was a short, olive skinned looking fellow. I did not know that he was of European extraction. Many thanks to the Organizers for clearing that up for me.

  • Sheila

Forget Jesus, why isn’t any commenting on the Hulk Hogan look-a-like at the end of this video!

    • fred johnson

Absolutely! I thought I was the only one who saw that.

    • Brooke Brockenborough

Interesting..Jesus does not look like that!! Maybe Leonardo and Michelangelo’s version of Jesus… I’m pretty sure these two artist painted the type of people that they were around everyday. Jesus clearly isn’t from Australia nor is he Italian. His skin was way darker. These people need to read the bible.

  • Justme

Wouldn’t it make more sense for Jesus to look Middle Eastern? Just asking….

  • Kimberly

For you guys info. and to the secular world. This man does not look like Jesus. Jesus was not from Europe and he was a jew. This man is just a hippy look-alike. He is nothing more and nothing less than that when it comes to looks.

    • Mary

he does not look like Jesus, people are morons these day omg!!!

  • SaT

    Ain’t human’s imagination great?

  • ashwalk

Jesus was a dark skinned man from Israel. How could he be kicked out for having blondish/red hair and a beard? How is that distracting? & how the heck does he look like Jesus besides the beard? If thats the case then most all southern men look like Jesus and are distractions. Ridiculous

  • kayet

If this story wasn’t so pathetic and sad, it might be funny. Who were those in charge who determined this man “looked like Jesus” and just how do they know what Jesus Looked like???

It is a sad day when someone is ridiculed and harrassed because someone decides a man with a very light skin, reddish tinted hair, and a beard looks like JESUS. Somewhere in the Bible, in the Book of Psalms,(I think), it says His hair was like “lambs wool”. I suppose meaning it was curly. But regardless, NO ONE knows what Jesus looked like and I doubt if any of the paintings of Him really depict how he looked.

What if someone had said he looked like Mohammed….. would they have kicked that man out or harrassed him? I think not…. they would have feared a “Holy War” would have broken out. We live in a day and time when Jesus and “Chrisitians” who worship him are truly hated.

Can I get an Amen? Thank you!

  • Zman

  • Bear

There most be thousands of people who look like that guy. What exactly caused people to think he looked like Jesus, or had to be escorted out? Did he say something, the article is unclear. What exactly brought him to anyone’s attention in the first place?
BTW, there are many paintings of what artists thought Jesus looked like, so there is no one “Jesus” look. Did this guy do something to call attention to that “look”?

  • Krum E

    Dumb article. ThIS IS “CRUM”.

  • A

Jesus look alike? I think people confuse the movie “Passion of the Christ” with reality. The movie intended to depict Jesus in a way that would appeal to a predominately North American crowd. Considering Jesus was born in Israel he would have looked very different than this. If one would remember history then you can deduce that before the Ottoman Empire and Arab Invasion there were not many people if any that look like this man in that region.

  • http://WebProNewsNewsletter Logitech

Just think, a ginger look alike.
Then they turned around and rejected him.
Does this sound like the begining of persecution?
An inocent man that was rejected for no other reason, other than being
rejected because he was born a human.
Everyone has an opinion, even the opinions that I have read in this artickle are not the same. Let the persecution continue.
Every time a person hits this guy with more verble attacks it’s just the same as continuing the persecution but in an other way.
Of course opinions are not the same but the point is, not one of you have come up with the same discrition that was read in any Bible.
Everyone of you has a different discription that was read from the Bible. If a true discription is read from the Bible than why are all
of these discriptions not the same?
    The persecution rolls on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A

Exactly. Nobody knows what Jesus looks like himself, and I think they did that in the first place, because people keep stressing over the end of the world next Friday. Ignorance. Even still that guy looks nothing like the guy from the Passion of the Christ, people are so ignorant it’s embarassing to the rest of us. People have no reason to act like that, immaturity.

  • Robert

Yesuhua (Jesus) was born in Northern Israel by an Israeli Mother. There skin is a beautiful Olive color. There isn’t an a drop of white blood that was in Him. Most Israeli’s have black or very dark hair not reddish. A way to know what He looked like is looking at the shroud of Turin. I believe that the strong evidence of the shroud is the burial cloth of Christ. For people to react in this way just shows how ignorant and bibically illiterate they are.

    • PatsyClineBitch

I agree with you and my son has those looks as his father is from that area. Also his name is Robert. I would hate for my son to be thrown out of Halo online tournament b/c some idiots thought he looked like Jesus! How ridiculous are these people? Actually my son has been accused of looking more like a Muslim terrorist!! I don’t get upset over that. I agree. I love my son no matter what he looks like. He is very handsome.

  • http://WebProNewsNewsletter Logitech

What I’m actually trying to do is agree with Bear and kayet.
I honestly think that the man did not ask to be born the way he was.
No one on God’s green earth can help the way that any one person looks
or was born. Unless a person goes through plastic sergury.
But, this man was naturally born his way.
How, many of you look in the mirror each morning and decide that your razzer is going to shave off a new look??????

  • Alisa

This guy doesn’t look anything like Jesus Christ and what ignorance 4,000 probably non-believers have shown. First off, Jesus Christ was not caucasian because while people could not live that close to the equator long ago or today for that matter! Secondly, he had to be of Jewish, Middle Eastern or African…. “His hair was like wool, feets of brace…” doesn’t fit caucasian or jewish.

    • dave

He was the son of GOD what does God look like? Maybe Gods white?

      • POBEMTE

Maybe he is white. Won’t that piss off a whole lot folks?

that would be “brass” not brace.

  • http://yAHOO Hamster

Drinking gone bad, as usual. Who knows what Jesus looks like????

    • Grandpa

Paintings done of Jesus are simply the artists speculation as to what He looked like–no one knows for sure. All we do know is that He would look Jewish. Attacking someone simply because he has a beard and long hair and supposedly looks like Jesus is a sorry excuse for kicking him out of anywhere.

    • me

People who feel threatened by Jesus need to ask themselves why… Why feel so threatened by someone who was so kind? :)

  • Holly

The only one who can tell what Jesus looked like is the Roman soldier who hit him before he was brought to Pilot. If i’m right he is supposed to still be living.

  • brandi

Jesus wouldn’t have had long hair as the nazarites culture wasn’t that way. Also, people don’t know what Jesus looked like. The world depicts him as a thin scraggly weak man, but alas, he wouldn’t have been. Jesus would have been a strong man to have had to live the life that he did while on earth. Also he isn’t a baby in a manger so quit depicting him that way as well. Come on world, he grew up remember!

  • Cindy Rogers

No one knew what Jesus looked like. He probably was short, swarthy and stocky, with dark hair and a beard, which is what most people of that area looked like back then. He was not fair complected, pretty sure. No Europeans in that area of any account until the Crusades, long after Jesus died. Most of the pictures we see in churches are artistic interpretations! In a European or American church, he would look caucasion. In Asia, he looks more Asian, etc…..

  • Jerry

In the first-place, Jesus was not white!

  • Alma Haynes

I am sure Jesus is weeping right now for that poor lost soul who said if he sees Jesus he will crucify him himself. It is not his will that any should be lost, but that all would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, the son of the Living God. Jesus loved everyone enough to die for them. It is too bad that so many don’t accept the truth which would lead them to everlasting life.

  • Pierre F. Lherisson

There is no archeological evidence to prove that Jesus Christ as referred in the Bible ever existed. The Bible like any other mythology books was plagiarized from the Pagan religions; even if the Bible has been a credible document, people would still be clueless regarding Jesus Christ iconography since the history of photography started in 1814. Prior to this, the relative accuracy of a person picture depended on the skill of the painter.

The Catholic Church started 306 years after the so called death of Christ. If it takes 16 years for each human generation, then Catholic Church started 16 generations after the death of Christ. Even if each generation tell the next generation how Christ looked like, the succeeding generations will inadvertently add, delete or reinterpret the information according to the ideal of each generation resulting in substantial variation regarding Christ morphology and aesthetic when he was alive if he ever existed..
The so called Christ picture varies in accordance to the ethnocentrism strength of the group that adopts him as a god. Thus, his pictography varies from blond to Negroid.
Several controversial attempts have been made to come up with Jesus Christ iconography and those include but not limited to: The Eastern Christians during the 6th century, the shroud of Turin, the Veil of Veronica, Leonardo da Vinci painting of Jesus Christ for Louis XII of France between 1506 and 1513.
Thus, it is preposterous to try to identify and equate a particular color, looks, size and shape with Jesus Christ since there is no legitimate reference to validate his picture. Moreover based on the Bible mythology, Christ could metamorphose and show up in any form and shape like the transfiguration of Christ on Mount Tabor.

    • tprw

get out of here with that BS. know the facts about the Catholic Church before you lead people into the dark. just another mainstream conspiracy nut trying to further the anti-Catholic agenda…

  • John Beard

This article infuriates me to no end. Why would anyone want to kick someone out just because he looked like our Lord and Savior, who gave his own life up on the old rugged cross so that we might have eternal life that is full of abundance? I totally agree about how no one knows what he looks like, but can we also agree what his personality was when he was alive? These non-believing people tend to forget why they were put on this earth to begin with. One last thing: Isn’t ironic that we are talking about this horrible story with only 2 weeks before Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ. I think it is really ironic.

That man looks NOTHING like Jesus, that’s for sure, we don’t even need to know what Jesus looks like to know that he doesn’t look like Jesus. Jesus was not WHITE.. Nope, No way, No how, No, No, No! Sorry!

    • Patsy Cline

You’re comment was so stupid. Of course Jesus was a Jew. Everyone with any sense knows that. But to say he was NOT WHITE…what are you getting at there? Sounds racial to me. Like being white is a bad thing.
Jesus loves all. So all the Dumb@$$E$ who threw this man out of a tournament because THEY thought he looked like Jesus….What a bunch of idiots.

  • dean

He’s just a guy with long hair and a beard. He wasn’t carying a cross or wearing robes or anything. I thought we were beyond this. This is mob bullying. They should have cleared the house and let him watch or stop the game, but letting the baboons have their way is always more profitable.

People just hate Jesus and anything involving Christianity these days as foretold in the Bible, esp Revelations. They could care less to learn anything about Him or what he taught. His education, his background, etc.

We ARE in the last days. I think we need to call in the Amish Mafia to take care of these folks. Before all ya’ll go off on that last statement, read the OT. God is a loving God towards his people but he maintains JUSTICE and won’t put with this against those who won’t accept his son.

  • jfur

Well i think if people came out n said that jesus looked like a small momar gahdafi i dontt think it would be widely accepted by the white christans aka the catholic money….but i may be wrong….

  • jfur

or maybe he looked like osma bin?? unless n e of us r around 2020 years old i doubt we can say for sure…but geographically….it just dont add up….

  • joe

This is chilling. This video reminds me of what it must have been like 2000 years ago when a crowd of Jews mocked the real Jesus Christ and had him crucified. The Jews suffered greatly because of it and so is the United States of America. We have ceased to be a Christian nation, we continue to kill millions of babies through abortion, and generally are spitting in the face of God. Natural disasters have never been more frequent or more powerful and socially and politically we are on the brink of complete ruin. But I will bet that few of you relate these events to our countries declining relationship with God, but in the end you will find out that relationship it is the only thing that is really important.

    • aaron

Joe I am with you 100% People don’t have a clue what to come.

      • aaron

Joe I am with you 100% People don’t have a clue of what is to come.

        • dub

Aaron, you are in the 100%, which means you don’t have a clue. @Joe I love that you point out the godless abortions but not our governments random killings of middle eastern civilians.

    • Rich

Joe, you make hell sound pretty damned good!(careful there’s a pun in there) Beside I don’t think I’d know anyone in heaven?

  • Wanda

    Funny, he doesn’t look Jewish.

    • kmonet

Yes but he looks like Jesus

      • J Peterman

He does? You’ve seen Jesus, then?

  • kmonet

Unfair and he should sue every member in attendance or the organizers. It is so sad how he was treated – basically the same way Jesus was treated. Have people become such heathens that they no longer respect Jesus? People are sick – it is sad. Poor guy and he looks handsome too.

  • Teresa Bates

Well all I have to say is, they should all be ashamed of themselves. Really, let people be, do your own thing and don’t judge people, he has every right to be anywhere he wants to be. What happened to rights? You can be a man or a female, black or white, straight or gay, it doesn’t matter anymore, but you can’t have long hair and look like someone? People are really taking things too far. All I am saying is leave it at home folks, if you don’t like how someone looks, don’t look at them, look in the mirror, because apparently you have some issues. Thanks.

  • Teresa Bates

I will say one more thing. The point isn’t really what he looked like. The point is that he was treated unfairly. The underlying truth is that Christians are not accepted and no matter what we look like or feel Jesus looked like, our faith should not stop us from attending any function at any place at any time.
We can not argue with each other over things, we must remain strong with the belief that Jesus is the love and guidance and strength that will always be there for all Christians, no matter what they look like.
If you love and accept him unconditionally, he does you too.
Love each other and help others to see that love too!

  • sucurro

Earlier in the old testament, those who talk shit used to get the punishment immediately, I wish Phil Taylor receive these signs 1st by getting his tounge stuck to his nose. so that others see this miracle and believe in him so as to save other flocks of jesus which is on the straight path.

  • Annamaria

LOL, Nah, NOPE. I do not see. A beard and long hair just does not make him look like Jesus. Maybe he likes the Middle Eastern look. I have seen many people with the same style. These people must be the relatives of the Elijah that crucified Jesus.
