James Van Der Beek Remembers Paul Walker on Twitter

By: Heather Vecchioni - December 13, 2013

James Van Der Beek posted a picture of he and Paul Walker together on Twitter Thursday, as part of the popular “Throwback Thursday.”

The picture was from a scene of the movie Varsity Blues, in which Van Der Beek played the lead role of Mox, and Walker as Lance. Van Der Beek wrote “#tbt came across this poster in a storage unit and almost cried… @paulwalker.”

Van Der Beek also posted the football team’s playbook, with the tweet “Also came across this #VarsityBlues” as the caption. From the playbook, Van Der Beek posted a picture that shows a play that was changed, saying “#HookandLadder in X’s and O’s. Must have looked better for camera to run it on the other side…”

Van Der Beek also expressed his grief on Twitter:

The men acted together in this 1999 film about a high school football team during the early days of their careers. The movie also featured Jon Voight and Amy Smart.

Walker tragically passed away November 30 in a fiery car crash. He was mostly known for his recurring role in the action film franchise Fast and Furious, and for his laid-back and genuine personality.

Walker will be cremated this weekend in a private service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills. He was survived by his daughter Meadow.
