On October 29, Rachel Bilson gave birth to a daughter with boyfriend Hayden Christensen.

Bilson and Christensen met and started dating in 2007, while co-starring in the Sci-Fi drama Jumper. The couple got engaged in December 2008. It was called off in 2010, but they got back together three months later.

Bilson and Christensen are very private about their relationship. In May 2014, The Hart of Dixie star did reveal a bit about her romance with Christensen to Health magazine.

He’s so incredibly supportive and considerate. It’s so basic—that should be there. Because these things are so much more important when you’re older. I’ve been in my relationship for seven years, so we’ve grown up together in a way. This is my partner, my support, just there for me no matter what. And vice versa.

Additionally, Bilson shared with the fitness magazine her desires to become a mother someday soon. She told Health that a major thing on her bucket list was “to start a family” in the next few years. Being a mother has always been one of her dreams. “I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I have always wanted kids. I can just see this little toddler waddling around the house,” she said. News broke of Bilson’s pregnancy in May as well.

Bilson and Christensen named their daughter Briar Rose, a name shared with the Brothers Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty. This was also the pseudonym of Princess Aurora in Disney’s version of the story.

Bilson and Christensen requested privacy at this joyous occasion. They both support the No Kids Policy, which allows celebrities to ask that their children not be photographed without their consent. A policy that celebrities like Dax Shepherd and Kristen Bell really advocate.

Hart of Dixie airs its fourth season on The CW next January.
