  • Google has launched a new photo-sharing feature for Gmail, enabling you to insert your Auto Backup photos from your phone into Gmail messages on the web with the new Insert Button.

Click the button, and you’ll get access to your backed-up photo library. This is one of those perks of having Google’s various services integrated with one another.

“If you upload and organize your photos into albums on Google Photos, you can also share entire albums,” notes product manager Thijs van As. “Plus, you can now resize images while composing messages by dragging on any corner to make your snapshot picture perfect.”

The features are rolling out. Obviously, you have to have Auto Backup turned on. Instructions on how to do this are here (it doesn’t require Android).
